When we were kids, me and my brother loved watching wrestlers like Bobo Brazil, Bruno Sammartino, and The Sheik.

It was the last time I paid attention to any of this.

McMahon really in "burn it all down" mode right now eh? He's forced out due to all of his financial shenanigans (plus he'd totally lost it in terms of really putting out a good product), and it almost feels like he's pissed that the company is doing fine - almost better - without him, and (while not exactly, because he's still the majority shareholder) sorta executes a hostile takeover of his own company to get back in, leading to the resignation of the (co-)CEO, who just happens to be his own daughter, and sells the company to the Saudis.

This will not end well. The guy is in complete no-farks mode a la Elon and I don't think he cares right now if his entire legacy crashes and burns as long as he's the one known for crashing it.

Nah, Saudi investors own women soccer teams and there doesn't seem to be a problem. If the point is to improve the reputation of Saudi Arabia I doubt they change anything except for having more events in Saudi Arabia.

WWE is sort of a perfect match for a middle eastern dictatorship looking to appear as if its a legitimate sports destination.

- None of the matches are actually real, so you don't have to worry about like, what happens if Israel makes it to the championship but your country doesn't recognize Israel

- The "heels and faces" dynamic can be easily redirected towards generating antagonism towards your geopolitical rivals.

He still controlled voting shares and could've pulled this move any time he wanted. He basically held the rest of the board hostage and said he'd refuse to sign off on any new TV deals unless they let him back.

Well, makes it all the easier for me to go back and enjoy pre-WWF wrestling without having to deal without Christo-facist Elite on one side or the Saudi Blood Money WWE on the other.

It's shocking we have two promotions finally again, and both a wrong in completely different ways.

Billy Corrigan, from Smashing Pumpkins, owns it now. And he's proven he can't book for crap and has done stupid things like running off supporters if they dont' meet his momentary needs, and booking former WWE guys into championships right off of acting foolish on national TV.

I can imagine that the Saudi Arabian power structure adopts WWE as a kinder, gentler form of execution, where the condemned are thrown into the ring to be used, in lieu of folding chairs, by the contestants to bash each other. Each condemned is removed from the ring once all of their bones are broken.
