She wrote such a gushing letter to the judge about what a wonderful man this guy is, yet he's obviously an utter asshole (GIS "How do I get rid of a 115 lbs body?"). Most people don't have a clue about who is a good person or a bad person.

The trash facility was a shred and burn facility.   They ain't gonna find a body.  Just DNA on the truck, and the receiving bay, and the conveyor belt.

*shudder*.  "Wow we don't normally do this, but holy crap that is a lot of blood."

Probably just from someone who was bitten by a ill advised pet poisonous snake, and unable to summon help, had their leg go gangrenous, and they were forced to amputate their own leg. This is not as rare as one might think. Probably.

Someone here said they would find the body somewhere between his and his mom's house.

20 minutes of B-roll at Home Depot with Jane Pauley describing how a hacksaw blade is made, how it's teeth are set for maximum destruction of material, sinister music rises and falls, the Mexican guy cuts a piece of 1/4" aluminum rod using a hacksaw while wearing full protective gear, the goggles are upside down, then Keith Morrison walks in with a pink human femur and quietly asks for no questions, music builds as bone is cut through, teaser for next segment: how the killer might have parked when buying the saw, jarring transition to a commercial for an inscrutable pharmaceutical.

There remains the possibility the bloody hacksaw is someone else's crime. Like in vegas when someone goes  missing and they find unrelated desert bodies

The google search  makes me think he's guilty.

The hacksaw and blood at his mom's place moreso, but sometimes the simplest answer isn't correct and things get weird. could be two murderers in the neighborhood

If he says he didn't do it, you know maybe he's on to something and there's another alleged murderer out there.

You have to explore both sides.  Two sides to every story.  It could have been anyone but it wasn't me.

It's sad because apparently they're having a hard time figuring out how to take care of the kids. I didn't hear what they said on the news, but my lady said, "What? They don't have any family that can take the kids in? I can't find a story about that, but I fear they're wards of the state at the moment.

I did find this story while looking.

He bought 3 kids smoothies and 2 adult smoothies on Jan 2 the day after she disappeared, but a couple days before he reported it. Now, I get it...he thought she flew to her job. And didn't think it was weird that he didn't hear from her when she landed, when she got to the office or whatever. I can't get 8 hours without phone calls from my wife.

On Jan 2, a day he knew his wife was either dead (if he did it) or thought she was in DC (if he didn't) and still bought his wife a smoothie. Knowing for a fact she wasn't home.

Just realized "Hacksaw and Blood" sounds like it was some sort of 80's action movie team up.   Like Hacksaw was a simple machinist white  boy from Iowa and Blood was a black guy from  Compton who was turning the corner on a past of gangland violence and going into the priesthood.   Together they have to stop....   I  dunno, pick a maguffin of your choice.

You're missing the point.

Imagine he's guilty, but there was also someone else guilty of different murder leaving blood and hacksaws around. A comedy of terrors.

What's probably gonna happen is it is her blood and this guy's going to jail forever in a straightforward case.

I can't appreciate sloppy workmanship.  It's all flawed, no attention to detail, and often gross instead of nuanced.  What's probably going to happen is that Jason will kill again and no one can stop him.

Wouldn't be the first time he's tried to pass an item off as an original, what with the art fraud conviction and all.

Which raises the question, what the hell is this guy doing driving around, taking his kids out for ice cream, etc. if he's supposed to be under house arrest?

She got a new job not too long ago in DC, with a major salary increase. IIRC she's more than a little younger than he is. And he's on house arrest, average looking, convicted of art fraud (no idea what the circumstances of that were, but usually, it's not a "one time only" kind of crime).

Thinking that she wanted to leave him (for whatever reason) and he wasn't going to let that happen.

Regardless, this guy does not appear to be a criminal mastermind.

This would actually be a funny movie.

One hapless killer trying to cover the tracks of another because the other killer uses the same M.O. and it's pointing towards him.

It's not that he wants to protect the copycat, but he's trying to cover his own a$$, plus he can't stand to see shoddy work. Eventually the copycat starts bogarting our "hero's" victims before he can get to them himself, and now our killer has a new mission. Find and kill the copycat.

The accused was already under a home confinement order by a judge for art theft, selling forged art works, and is awaiting trial for those crimes.  My guess is that she wanted a divorce and being a washed up loser he realized that would utterly ruin him.  I am willing to bet his wife had a decent term life policy given that she had three kids as the motive.
Once the police prove that the knife, hacksaw, and carpet are covered in his wife's DNA he is in very deep trouble.  He couldn't help talking to the police and fabricating a fake story.  That gave the DA an excuse to detain him while they gathered evidence.  Did he think they wouldn't check his story?
Hopefully the kids have family to grow up with, what a tragedy.

man why are people so freakin' stupid. Hasnt everyone watched at least a few Forensic Files to know how this goes down?

I learned the following from that show:

1. there is a really appallingly large amount of violence towards women from males they know; men seem to kill random other males but women seem to be generally murdered by men they know.
2. if you attract the attention of law enforcement and they dedicate resources to solving a murder you committed, you will be caught.
3. if you kill someone, never pierce the meat bag
4. if you kill someone, never let a body be recovered.

so basically, the only way to get away with murder these days is to never attract the attention of law enforcement enough to have them dedicate real resources towards it. and the way to do that is to not have enough to go on; no body, no blood smears or whatever.

i remember there was one forensic files, some dumbass in the midwest killed his gf coz she got pregant, and altho they never found her body, so much of her blood was soaked into the mattress and on the ceiling floor etc (he killed her with "sai" stabby things, like the kind the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Raphael use) that there was no way for her to have survived, and got a convinction accordingly. All the dumbass had to do was to, say, strangle her instead, and dump the body, and he probably never wouldve been tried for murder since there was never a body found.
