I'm downright amazed at how well he's recovered.  I'm sure he's still got a lot of work to do, but he's sure been beating all of my expectations so far.

The doctors from UC Medical said he was transferred to a hospital in Buffalo. Watched this on ABC news Q&A with the doctors about 15 minutes ago.

Yea he is not discharged fully, just transfered but he is okay to travel which is a step forward.  They still had him on oxygen yesterday from the picture he posted of himself before the game.

Nice that the Bills will pay him his full $3.5 million contract.  It is distinctly possible he may never play again and such a nest-egg, more than most ordinary folks make in a 40-year career, will ensure he doesn't end up selling pencils on a street corner.

My understanding was that they were paying the rest of the season in full, which presumably also includes potential playoff bonuses and other things they may not have to pay if a guy is on IR. But I may not have seen the most recent updates.

Yeah, for sure.  I think the credit there goes to the medical staff at the game and how quickly they got to him, realized this wasn't a torn ACL and got CPR going.  Delay that by a minute or two and I don't think this story has the same ending.

There is a Star Trek episode named "Message in a Bottle", but it's from Voyager and has Andy Dick as the second generation EMH.

To make matters even more confusing, there is also a TNG episode named "Ship in a Bottle", with the return of Moriarity and clever holodeck tricks.

Yes, they're paying him for the rest of the season.  Which was literally 1 game.

Instead of paying him half for that game, they're paying him the full amount.

That is funny, and yet I bet it was also a bit of mental and physical therapy just to get to jump up and down and celebrate something in the game his teammates were playing at least partly in his honor. I mean, here's a young guy who's a professional athlete, who's used to being physically active. Necessary as it was for him to stay in an ICU bed, he was probably itching to get outta there within a day or two of regaining consciousness. A person that highly motivated to go out and do things will most likely have trouble adjusting to being sedentary for long.

Knight, a doctor at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, said Hamlin was released to a health care team from Buffalo after his condition was upgraded from critical to good or fair.

I normally hate Andy Dick, but he was *perfect* for that role.
