"I don't understand why everyone likes Homestarrunner. Teh are never funny. Strong Bad e-mails are teh lame.

"Please stop linking to them. I can't control my urge to click the link (even though I hate watching it every time) then coming into the thread and crapping on everyone's good time. It's YOUR fault for linking to it.

"Anyway, Homestar is totally stupid. And anyone who likes them is stupid too."

Humorless A-hole

/pre-emptive strike

Worst, Homestar, Ever!

/coming from a huge HR fan
2004-12-20 10:54:31 AM
If people don't like Homestar, why do they still click the link to it?
And why bother biatching about it to those of us who do enjoy it?

Grow up.
2004-12-20 10:54:47 AM
that pre-emptive strike is getting pretty tired..
2004-12-20 10:55:22 AM
Is the support group at the end the only easter egg?
2004-12-20 10:55:49 AM

My name's Trendy! I like Britney Spears, Reality TV, and Homestar Runner!

Want to chat?
2004-12-20 10:56:12 AM
That Homestar Sucked!
2004-12-20 10:56:20 AM
The first part was freakin' hilarious. Naked Homestar...
2004-12-20 10:56:23 AM
Is it just me or does that blockhead look like Les Claypool?
2004-12-20 10:56:58 AM
Wow, Homestar is kinda like me in regard to Christmas presents. I don't think I'll wait till the PM though. Maybe the day before however...
2004-12-20 10:57:42 AM

that pre-emptive strike is getting pretty tired..

So are the morans who keep biatching about homestar.
2004-12-20 10:57:52 AM
HSR is "trendy"?

Maybe I AM cool afterall!
2004-12-20 10:58:19 AM
That was a barely passable Christmas entry, somewhat redeemed by "Don't bogart those stuffinged hams neither" but the snowdome is way better.
2004-12-20 10:58:34 AM
Yes, this phone is plugged in...

Oh no, I forgot to pay my bills again this year...

This one had a good start, but finished in the eh range.

There should be a survey of what the best e-mail ever was.
2004-12-20 11:00:00 AM
Wouldn't the 'trendy' thing be to bash homestar?

"Oh yeah dude, I'm like a rebel cause I keep saying homestar sucks every time I can!"

Of course comments like these are also becoming more and more common...
2004-12-20 11:00:07 AM

If people don't like Homestar, why do they still click the link to it?
And why bother biatching about it to those of us who do enjoy it?

Good question(s).
2004-12-20 11:00:13 AM
I hate people who assume that just because something is popular, it's automatically lame. Homestarrunner is funny because it's charming and doesn't resort to the lowest common denominator. Just because you can't go 20 minutes without seeing boobies or a pistol-whipping, homestar is just a waste of your time. But please, let other people enjoy, as a lot of people do.
2004-12-20 11:04:38 AM
"So are the morans who keep biatching about homestar."

Very, very true. If you don't like it, don't view the thread... why waste your time biatching??
2004-12-20 11:06:07 AM
that last sentence was not directed at dr_worm_md ... I realize the pre-emptive strike is not literal
2004-12-20 11:06:14 AM
I'd buy one of those Snowdomes.

1) submitter, it's alms.

2) When the crap did HSR become trendy? Did I not get the memo?

You know, I've been a fan of stuff like HSR and ATHF long before they were mainstream hits. It always pisses me off when someone accuses me of liking it because it's trendy to do so. To prove that I likes what I likes regardless of its current coolness, I will now offer some incriminating evidence. The following are un-trendy things I love:

Harry Belafonte (I have a picture of me with him), Garth Brooks, The Brak Show, In Living Color (I still say "breasteses"), 80's movies (you couldn't watch one without seeing a can of Pepsi somewhere), Swing Dancing, Pinstripe Suits, Doo-Wop, and Tabletop Gaming (both RPG and miniature), and Star Trek: TNG (Up yours Kirk; Picard 4-Life)

There we go, I've thoroughly ruined any chance I'll ever have of being considered "cool" ever again. But at least now you know that if I like something, it's not to be trendy.

/awaits inevitable rip on his taste
//Now watch this drive
2004-12-20 11:08:12 AM
Homestar is not trendy. Trendy is when radio and TV personalities pretend they are with it.

"This asian reporter Tricia Takanawa coming to you live from my computer where I am enjoying the latest cool site of the day 'The home star running'."

At that point the site will be trendy and lose all it's cool.
2004-12-20 11:09:11 AM
All I know is that from now on, I'm answering my phone with "Hellor?"
2004-12-20 11:09:58 AM
Maybe they shoulda held onto some of the "Decemberween in July" toons?
2004-12-20 11:11:35 AM
why do the voices sound like they are speaking ssssllllooooowly?
2004-12-20 11:15:06 AM
but the snowdome is way better.

Trogdor says I've wasted more time than anyone else ever has, so my life has been spared for another day.

No doubt, did I buy my strongbad sweatshirt from Hot Topic? No it was from a store called Ko-Pilot that also stocks Domo-kun & Pocky Sticks.

several minutes in and the only funny thing so far is that you thought "alms" was "homes".
2004-12-20 11:29:06 AM
Naked homestar was kinda funny, and the egg at the end with the "underused characters" or whatever was funny too. Not in a ha-ha way, but more of a "chortle".

/bring back Pom-Pom!

Suicidal: that pre-emptive strike is getting pretty tired..

Mildly humorous anecdote regarding the Decemberween toon:

I wake up this morning, stumble downstairs, and awaken the compy. Turn on TV, flip over to CBS to watch some Family Feud and The Price is Right. President Bush comes on with some stupid press conference... I listen for a little while, then remember it's Monday and there's new Homestar to be watched. Mute the TV, head on over to HSR and watch the movie. About 30 seconds in, my grandma (who is sitting behind me, at the dining room table working on a puzzle) begins laughing hysterically. I wonder, "did she finally find Homestar funny?" Then she explains... the voices coming from the computer and Bush's picture were going at the same time. Prezzy Bush sounded an awful lot like Coach Z this morning.
2004-12-20 11:34:01 AM
The beginning and the part with Strong Sad being trapped in the bathtub was pretty freakin hilarious, the rest was "eh".
