Cruz didn't want to go to Cancun, but that's where the Command Center was located, so he was obligated.

Centerpoint tacked on surcharges here in MN to cover their losses in Texas as well.

Minnesota didn't bail anyone out. We got burned by the natural gas market prices skyrocketing because of Texas so we got to add $800M to our bills.

Can you translate that to gallons of gas?

85,000 megawatts would roughly equal 2,805,000 gallons of gas.

If only there was some kind of system where adjacent states could connect their power systems together, so that a shortage in one place could be addressed by sending energy from other states.

We (in MN)  were paying a "February Event Surcharge" of like $16, but that "Texas Tax" mysteriously went away after a few months.

You're characterizing the second largest state by the mayor of a town of 4000 who was kicked the fark out of office for what he said (forced to resign I believe).

There's plenty going down in Texas to frown upon without building significance out of an insignificant person.  I mean, you are aware of how aggressively shiatty the state government is, right?

And also, it's cold.  Everybody stay warm!
