The headline made me think 2-Buck Chuck finally raised their prices.

I don't know how bill acceptors work in England or other regions. American bills are slow to change because we have a lot of bill acceptors that need to remain compatible or updated, and most of them are primitive devices that you can't update to something new.

They published this beauty a few days ago and all I could rhyme it with was 'punt', but the Irish stopped using the punt about 20 years ago

on further consideration 'ninny on a guinea' would work, but I still lean heavily toward my initial interpretation

A more accurate take would be somewhere between that and Grogu.

Git on a quid could work too, but yeah, your first go at it sounds better.

Cool.

I went to a considerable amount of effort to get the Alan Turing 50 pound not when it came out. Now, I need to get the Chuck buck version to complete my set of nerd notes:

Italian 2000 Lira - Marconi
Serbian 100 Dinar - Tesla
England 50 Pound - Turing

'twould be nice to see some women scientists...

We didn't have many veding machines that took notes, and the ones that do are designed on the assumption that a new note will be issued every five years so they can be updated (as pound notes get updated every five years). Now plenty of machines take cards as well as cash.

We use coins a lot more than the USA does, with higher vales as well (up to £2) so the idea that any vending machine needs to take notes is a modern thing (unless they are change machines to feed gambling machines in arcades)

So when the Royal Bank of Canada puts KG3 on the notes, will Prince Harry feel more awkward stuffing $5 bills with his dad's picture on it?

Or has he just given up on having any feelings on who's face, Gram Gram's face vs his dad's face is peeking out from the g-string?

If the exchange rate gets any worse, they'll burn Chuck Bucks for heat, they'll have to buy the matches from the EU zone w/ Liz Lucre.

The previous Swedish 500 SEK note had Polhem on it.

Although the note designs revealed by the Bank will feature a new portrait of the monarch, the reverse side will remain unchanged, with the author Jane Austen on the £10 notes, the artist JMW Turner on the £20 ones and the computer scientist Alan Turing on the £50 notes. Security features, including holograms and plastic windows, will also remain unchanged

Question answered.  Wasn't aware of portraits on both sides.

Do you have the Charles Darwin £10 note in your collection as well? They once frolicked freely through the fields and towns of Britain. Since then new competition has arisen and they're rapidly going extinct.
