According to someone else in the "Internet Old Farts Club," Edgerton went to the 1985 "Boscon" conference in Boston (of course) and was handing out copies of that photo.  No word on whether he signed 'em.

Back in college, inspired by this photo, I shot up a carton of beer with a BB gun. It was in the film days, so I couldn't just check the screen to see how I did. And I didn't have any sort of shutter trip. Trigger in one hand, shutter release in the other. The flash was 1/20,000 of a second or whatever, but images burn on to your eye for 1/3 of a second, so I could see how I was doing and I was able to make good adjustments. That shot stayed in my portfolio for a long time.
