Funny thing is, it is actually possible for a homicide victim to talk to police. You would have to be either mortally wounded and not yet deceased (Frank Drebbin: "Who else here is almost dead!?") or you can die much later as a result of someone murdering you (such as, for example, you get shot at age 23, at age 57 you die because of an infection or other complication caused by that bullet, the prosecutor most likely will decide to file murder charges against the person who shot you even though it took that long for him/her to murder you).

You can even be considered murdered if someone wounds you that needs surgery, the doctor screws up the surgery and you die, but because you went in there to be healed from someone hurting you, the person who assaulted you can be charged with murder despite it not being their direct actions which killed you.
