He didn't take a loss, he was just an arrogant shiatheel who thought he'd be able to do better than a $3 million offer by selling it himself on the open market and proved himself completely and utterly wrong. Which, yes, does probably tell you everything you need to know about his relative skills as a broker of anything involving financial decisions.

I hope he had everything in TSLA stock. Lose this money too, assbag.

Worse than that, if he'd taken the $3 mil there would have been no commission to an auctioneer, he will end up with just over a mil.

I guess I am a dumbass because I would of just taken the autographed game worn jersey by Judge and a handshake by him and I would have handed the ball to him since he was the one that actually hit all those home runs.

Yeah, turning down guaranteed lifechanging money for a handshake and a couple hundred bucks' worth of souvenirs would make you a dumbass. If Judge really cared about getting it back, he or his billionaire employer could give you a big check.

talking about some very well-to-do asshole who is -only- coming away with $1M isn't much fun

The real question is, why does everyone act like it's a certainty that 6-7 280 lb Aaron Judge is not on steroids?

dude, I like you and you usually have good insights/analysis, but you're nuts if you think Dansby is the final piece needed to get the Cubs a division win. I'm hoping they build on the success of the second half of this season and finish over .500, but I think at best they MAYBE have an outside shot at a WC.

not everyone is certain about that, and there's always going to be suspicion in some sectors due to the sordid history baseball has with steroids. but unlike Bonds and McGwire, Judge has always been a physical beast, rather than going from kinda scrawny to super buff in a short period of time. plus, steroids don't add to height, and someone who's 6'7" is going to weigh more just because of how tall they are.

Pretty much. When he played for Pittsburgh, Bonds was like 180-190.  Suddenly, he gets traded and shows up to San Francisco 230 pounds of solid muscle. He couldn't have been more obvious if the needle was still stuck in his ass.

It's more that I see the rest of the NL Central as being -that bad-, with the possible exception of the Brewers.

I think the additions of Bellinger, Taillon and Swanson may be just enough to push the Cubs to the winning side of the ledger, so that combined with a stagnant rest of the division and yes, I can see the Cubs taking the NL Central.

If you had a $3 million offer on the table for a farking baseball and you settle for a jersey and a handshake, then you are a dumbass.

It's easy to make these types of claims when you don't have a baseball in your hand worth $3 million. Literally nobody believes anyone is turning down that money for a jersey and a handshake.

I was going to say maybe someone who didn't need the $3 million would do it, but no, the already-rich can be the greediest people out there.
