I'm getting a real Fargo vibe from this story. He sounds like the poor-relation cousin who runs one facility while other family are the execs and have bigger shares of the company. Or maybe he's an old drug addict.

Previous generations of seniors did not know how to put in a nanny cam to guard their meds.

My wife is in a rehabilitation center.  I went to get her some pain meds one day.  The nurse said that the nurse on the previous shift gave her some and it wasn't time.  I told them she had not.  They said they had to go by the chart.  I know the mohterfakrer stole them.  He's no longer there.  He "quit" unexpectedly.  I'm sure that happens a lot.  My wife can get up to 4 a day and she usually only take one a day at the most.  It would be so easy.  What a piece of shiat.

You're absolutely right. It happens quite a lot. There are consultant pharmacists who come back around and double check paperwork matches the number of pills left over, if any, but taking some and denying the patient meds is a way around that since many patients either don't remember later or are simply ignored. It's awful.
