okay, so I'm not the only one that has noticed that towing fees have gotten damn rotten in the past couple years.

Like, it's almost as if they figured out they have a captive customer base under duress.

Ken's Westside Towing, the company that had the city contract here in Bloomington, Indiana, lost it when the owner's son posted a rant about George Floyd online... while in the company uniform, and seated in a company tow truck.

That didn't sit well with liberal Bloomington, so the city pulled the contract, which was probably the bulk of his towing business.

The owner allegedly fired his son, but probably hired him back after the contract was lost.

Karma, biatches!

/Everyone hates Ken.

Doesn't matter.  The daily impound rates will now triple.

In Seattle, the impound fee starts at $218 and then they charge $20 every 12 hours you don't get your car.

Better still is that they don't have to tell you that your car has been impounded, so that's easily nearly $300 if you leave your car for 3 days.

A tow is a tow and some dough is some dough.

If we don't get no tows then we don't get no doughs.

Back in the day, you could leave your car in the right lane on the G.W. bridge in New York for however long it took for it to get stripped down to the bolts before the city towed it.

Earlier lyrics from the Daley days work better, I think. Also the chorus. But maybe it's just the one I knew as a kid.

Well, if I call to get my car towed to a mechanic, it's actually kind of reasonable. My son was involved in an accident a while back, and the police called the tow truck. It turns out, if the police call the tow truck, it's a license to steal. I think it was close to 700.00 to tow it probably 3 miles. Pissed me off so much, I just let them keep the car instead of paying it.

huh, this wasn't about marge 'cloven hooved' greene....well then csb anyway.
many years ago when i was visiting friends at their college, i parked in a church parking lot across the street from the dorms (it's georgia there are churches every block, even downtown atlanta.) parked there hundreds of times over the course of a few years with no problem. then one day when i agree to take a friend to class, we go out there....and my car is gone. she starts bugging out all "aaagh i'm gonna be late to class!!" i have more pressing concerns "biatch my car is gone fark yer class." long story short it was towed by some shiatheads that never told me...i filed a police report and everything. a few weeks later finally tracked it down and they told me i was illegally parked which was fascinating considering there where no signs indicating the legality of aforementioned parking situation....to which i was informed that the lack of signage was due to the fact that people kept stealing the 'church idiots only' (er whatever) signs. so not only did i have to pay to get my car out of impound, i had to pay for every day it was there which was farking fascinating considering they never told me it was towed in the first place. so tl:dr (too late) absolutely fark those guys.....and also churches, just to cover the bases

Towing is highway robbery. The rates are "what the market will bear" which is a lot when they have your $30,000 asset. Gf got her car towed from her own parking spot despite it being on a list of two cars registered to that spot.
