Cyrene Valantion: Now that the dust has settled we can see that Dumfries did indeed get a second yellow for throwing himself at the celebrating argentines after the penalty shootout.

The one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that the referee was utter crap and had lost total control of the game by the end.

How crap are we talking here? Baseline "not quite up to the task" polished turd? "Give three yellow cards to the same player in one game" crap crap? Or "has an active Fark account twelve years later" unforgivably awful?

Penalties isn't exactly "crushed" but I appreciate that it's hard to make a headline so fine.

/penalties are also a terrible way to resolve an elimination-round match
//the fact that actual championships have been decided on them is a travesty

Watched my "socially obligated" couple of weeks of soccer for four years.

Yep.

I wonder who had a bigger body-count; the movie "300", or soccer?

It's like watching Duck Hunt. But without the cool dog...

I can't fathom why anyone would complain about pk's. They're more exciting than anything that happens in any American sport
