Scarface was a brilliant game though. So at least he was indirectly related to a game. He's got that going for him.

I enjoyed it quite a lot, but I'm not sure a GTA clone can be called brilliant.

It's soundtrack is more full of win and awesome than anything I've heard from GTA

It's just fine for what it is, but what it is is someone saying "What if we re-skin this gangster game with this gangster movie?"

Reminds me of Sea Dogs:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Dogs_(video_game)

Basically Sea Dogs came out, and was amazing.

Then they started making Sea Dogs 2: The Sea Dogsing, and Pirates of the Caribbean came out so Disney was like, "Lets just buy that game and call it Pirates of the Caribbean". So they shoehorned some IP into it, and it was...not very good.

Just as an aside there's been a few sequels since and they're also not very good, apparently one has been remastered which I might have another look at, but I expect it's not very good.

They kind of kept the ancient mechanics and interfaces, but tried to expand and bulk them up so that it's all now wildly confusing and difficult to manage.

I don't care about gaming awards and I don't care about One-Trick Pacino, so it seems like a perfect match-up.

Then you missed out.  Just took a look at the game's soundtrack and it's basically the soundtrack from 2002's GTA: Vice City, which might as well have been titled Grand Theft Auto: Scarface (Vice City is the GTA version of 1980s Miami).  Even has Push It to the Limit.

But the hands down king of GTA soundtracks is GTA San Andreas.  Like every song on every genre radio station is great.  Well, except the house music station.

GTA 4 soundtrack sucked, GTA 5's wasn't bad but it's nothing compared to SA.  3 had a pretty good one.

Vice City's public access radio station talk show... back in the day I burned a CD of that to play in my car.  That's some funny stuff.

Not to be outdone by Pacino's tiresome rambling, Christopher Judge then stretches his acceptance speech to damn near ten minutes.

TIL Al Pacino is 82 years old.
Let's be honest, lots of octogenarians don't play videogames.

Celebrity conference (or 'niche' award) speakers rarely know who they've been hired by.

At two OpenText conferences galas I've been to, one hosted by Martin Short, and another by William Shatner - neither knew anything about the product.

Which is fine, they're meant to entertain, which they both did admirably.

Then there's E3 2007? Hosted by Jamie Kennedy. Eesh.

They should make a Dog Day Afternoon game. It could be action adventure. During the game you control randomly chosen, by the game, characters. You could be anyone with speaking lines in the movie. The actions you choose for each character influences the outcome. There would be one ending where it's a total bloodbath and everyone is killed. Another ending would be one where they get away and no one is killed. The rest of the endings would be somewhere in the middle of that. That adds replay value because the choices to achieve the two unique endings would not be as obvious as you think. Not to mention the characters you control at any given moment will never be the same. Plus the action element means that even if you know exactly what to do and you control the specific character you need at the exact time you need them, you could still screw up.
