1. So, unlimited protected sex is a public good? Giggity.

2. But on an economic level, this will not help the low birth rate.

3. But in terms of climate change, that is probably a good thing.

France to make condoms free at pharmacies for those ages 18-25

Why limit it to 18-25? Can you not get pregnant outside that 7 year window?

/Not to mention STIs?

Lets provide free contraceptives to the people that need it most and see what happens.

My predictions.

STD/STI rates drop dramatically
Unintended pregnancies drop dramatically
Abortion rates drop dramatically

Naturally, America can't have these outrageous offenses to Jebus, and we will hear nothing but the wailing of idiots about it.

Step one: be under 25
Step two: get free condoms
Step three: sell them half-price to over-25s

The wailing will be about declining white European birth rates, and will be the lead story on Fox and whatever other RWNJ outlets are still running.

Ok, I don't know how to embed a TikTok video, but this woman had a new-to-me take on explaining Leonardo DiCaprio's dating.

I imagine it is because it is assumed after 25, an individual should be established enough to provide those items for themselves. While 18-25 year olds are at an intersection of being the the most sexually active, likely to engage in risky sexual behavior, and the poorest socioeconomic group (due to many focusing on college and not working or working in low wage entry positions).

Basically, the video says that the women probably leave him at around 25 because they've become too mature for him -- as in, he's still a teenager at heart who likes things like fart jokes.

Starts off one, winds up t'other. That's what in science we call a "unit conversion".

Add in French women, and you've got a recipe for horniness. More than usual for the demographic, I mean.

well as i told my mini-scarfs "if you think it is embarrassing to buy condoms imagine how it'll feel to show up to HS graduation with a baby stroller."

Leonardo Dicaprio? That old fat guy? Really?

I predict few people will bother with the condoms unless they want balloon animals for a party.

I don't expect the rates to drop dramatically as they're starting from a much better position.

The only problem I have with this is the 18 lower limit.

The article implies that free birth control has already been provided to teenagers under the age of 18 though whether this is so could have been more explicitly stated.

And why is there an age cap? Free BC should be free BC, not "just for those under a certain age".

18-25 is college age, a period in life when money is tight and sex abounds. It makes sense, no?

No, making it available to EVERYONE makes sense. You don't think people over 25 get pregnant without intending to?

It is available to everyone. By 25 people should be earning enough to pay for it themselves.

"Free" doesn't mean it just falls from the sky. It makes sense to limit it to those who really need it. How is that such a hard concept to grasp?
