As insane as this speech seems, Shirkey still refused to go along with Trump's efforts to overthrow the election.

Biblical endtimes? Sure.
Paranoid replacement theories?  Fine.
New World Order delusions?  Yup.
Anonymous, but all powerful enemies? Ok.
Trump's stolen election theories?  No, that's a bridge too far.

It's amazing that Trump's folks couldn't even convince this lunatic.

"We are witnessing 2 Timothy Chapter 3 before our very eyes," Shirkey told his colleagues.
That chapter of the Bible begins, "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days."

Shirkey said there's a push to achieve "one world governance, one world religion

I bet he said that without a shred of self awareness

FTFA: Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, a Republican from Clarklake, used his farewell address Wednesday to warn of forces that, he says, will challenge "the very fabric of our freedoms, independence, our sovereignty, our values and even our God given rights."

Too bad. The Browning and Blackening of America will continue. Deal With It.

America won't get healthy until people like this are shoved out of office and kept out, and then disarmed if they try to pull any more funny business. Disarmed and jailed. And their property confiscated and given to the homeless.

The outgoing Senate leader told a series of stories during his speech, including one about reaching his hand into a Senate toilet to test the water temperature after noticing warmth in the bathroom.

"I put my hand in it, and it was hot water," Shirkey said. "So I went back to the office and said, 'Please, get a hold of maintenance staff around here and ask them why taxpayers are paying for hot water in our toilets."

Republican leadership.

In a damning secretly recorded video, Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey was caught saying that the Jan 6 Capitol takeover was "staged" and "pre-arranged." He also said that Republican Senator Mitch McConnell "was a part of it." Hmmmm.

Hold up.  Let's review that bible passage.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%203&version=NIV

3 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God- 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
6They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

Sounds more like a description of the Republican party than anything else.

Such a dickish way of framing the problem. Like it's happening deliberately, put in motion by whatever dark forces the maintenance staff answer to.

Yes, they want your butt cheeks to get used to a warm toilet seat in winter, so when the One World Gumt comes, they can threaten to take it away if you don't conform! Exactly as the Bible foretold.

Shirkey said there's a push to achieve "one world governance, one world religion, one world health care, one world currency and one world control."

An evolved species could pull this off splendidly.

We are not such a species, so it cannot be done, largely because of religious claptrap about how a united species, all of us in it together equally, is somehow an evil idea.

Also, "In April 2020, Shirkey's business, Orbitform, received $1.8 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. In January 2021, Orbitform received another $1.7 million in PPP loans, for a total of $3.5 million. During this time, Shirkey led the Michigan Senate to block allocation of $4 billion in federal COVID reliefs funds for food and rental assistance."
