House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney(N.Y.) and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden(Ore.) in asking for the records cited previously undisclosed emails that largely relate to a 2018 bailout of a Kushner-owned office building. The request comes as part of the committees' investigation into whether the former White House senior adviser's financial conflicts of interest improperly influenced U.S. policy.

By my best observation, the Republican Party is mostly animalistic reactionary id... But there's a few 'moderates' for lack of a better word that went along with the whole fascism thing because they thought going mask off would be a winner-which it was not. So now there's a few that are trying to throw trump to the wolves and pretend as though they never supported him with the fervor that they did.

What I would seriously like to know is, why is some Congressional Committee the one to investigate this?
Why isn't the DOJ doing it?

It seems absurd to me that some government committee announces out loud, to the entire planet, what their investigation is.  This give Kushy time to shuffle things around, make plans, throw others under the bus, flee the country, and 1000 other things.

Doesn't it seem far more sensible for the DOJ to run and investigation, then drag him out of his house in his underwear at 5:00AM with the cameras rolling?

Just a thought, but maybe take away the ability of the president to override the rejection of security clearances. Or, at a minimum, require the basis for overturning the decision be a little more substantive than "because I said so."

Why not close the barn door after the horses ran away with billions.

We were all talking about it at the time they did it. Paying of his building, meeting overseas in hotel rooms with shady people like Prince.

I hear you.  I am as frustrated.  It is baffling to me that obvious crimes take so long to charge and bring to trial, if that happens at all.

if I were to guess:

The House is investigating Jared for the Saudi money he received after the change in the Administration around July 2021.   Looks like the investigation started around July 2022.

And the Senate investigating the Qatar money began after Dems got control of the Senate.
