I'm starting to think America has a weird issue with guns.

How stupid do you have to be to bring a piece into an airport?

We live in a country where people go grocery shopping with a pistol at the hip. I was in a Christmas shop this summer and someone was open carrying .they either believe danger is at every corner or they will one day be a hero.

I'm guessing that this means they missed about 200-300 guns.

If you own a gun, cool. I get that. Maybe a pistol, a rifle, a shotgun. I have no issues. Maybe some guns you inherited from your father or your mother's side of the family.

Now, beyond that, can you kinda start to  decipher where we're trying to draw distinctions between gun owners and gun nuts?

It isn't that hard to distinguish one from the other.

F**king amateurs...

The Transportation Security Administration has discovered 342 firearms from passengers at different security checkpoints around the airport as of Oct. 7 at the Atlanta airport in 2022. That would make them first in the country, ahead of Dallas Forth-Worth who has confiscated 299, a TSA official said.

Record-setting number of guns being found at Atlanta airport, TSA says (msn.com)

There's been days when the 2nd gun has been found here before 7am. Guns Everywhere law in Georgia means exactly that, guns are everywhere. I have yet to figure out how someone forgets where their guns are.

This is a good point. I have had this discussion with groups of friends / coworkers before. The argument should revolve on a higher number than seems reasonable with one person you know only has one or two guns. Have him agree with you that 2 or 3 guns are "usually" enough for "most" people.
Then have them agree that 10 or more guns is a good cut-off for being considered a "gun nut".

I promise, at least 2 people will admit to having 20 guns.

Hell, I live in northern VA, and there are "No Guns Permitted" signs taped on the doors of the local government center.

Made me wonder why you'd want to bring a firearm into the government center unless you want to overthrow the government.

Oh wait...

I know a TSA guy who works at DTW in Detroit. I asked him one time "Yeah, but how often do you actually find someone with a gun or knife on them, trying to get onto a plane?"

His response: "Every day, dude."

I get that but one would think that people would realize you're probably going to get busted and it's probably a federal crime. I guess one would be wrong.

Hey, like you said. You be you.

And you confirmed 20.

Is there a problem? Did I say there was a problem?

Only based on the discussion thus far, I would say no. Everything seems to be going as expected.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood the question.  You meant to ask if I had 20.  I thought you meant is 20 acceptable.  I personally own 3.  Handgun, .22 rifle, and a shotgun.

I would imagine you have a formal table setting that would rival the Hamptons based on your dedication to gun etiquette.

The salad gun is smaller, usually a .25cal.
It is routinely placed to the left of the dinner gun, which, depending on the level of dinner guests, is normally a 9mm for rehearsal dinners for example, and can be as large as a 1911 .45cal for state dinners.

A revolver is usually placed at the top of the place setting for both bread, and another for dessert.

Your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is flawed. Try reading Johnson's Dictionary, from the 1750's, on the use of commas.
