This is a good point. I have had this discussion with groups of friends / coworkers before. The argument should revolve on a higher number than seems reasonable with one person you know only has one or two guns. Have him agree with you that 2 or 3 guns are "usually" enough for "most" people.
Then have them agree that 10 or more guns is a good cut-off for being considered a "gun nut".

I promise, at least 2 people will admit to having 20 guns.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood the question.  You meant to ask if I had 20.  I thought you meant is 20 acceptable.  I personally own 3.  Handgun, .22 rifle, and a shotgun.

well you have your "casual" guns, your "formal" guns, your "I just want to be lazy and not go outside" guns, your "I just woke up and not really awake" guns, Xmas guns, Easter guns, funeral guns, wedding guns, summer guns, Labor Day guns, etc.
