I mean, unless they only used the alleged balls for Yankee at bats how is it cheating? Or is this just an "I don't like the Yankees so I'll call it cheating" thing?

I mean given the sampling size it was probably nothing, so it was more of a joke or MLB trying to play up the "He's gonna beat Marris so let me interrupt your college football game every at bat he has" narrative.

The 4 AL pennants and 2 rings in 6 years are very rough, indeed.

Cheating works obviously, but your team had a good year last year.  It's good your enjoying it because the Astros won't be back for a long time, and face it, you've got nothing else in that city to be proud of.

Meh, not like the team is depleted.  We have a better chance than most to win a world series next year but it's baseball so I won't hold my breath. The Texans will never win anything, nor should they as long as tommy boy owns them. Not a whole lot of city pride, it's an unattractive swamp, I would never visit for any particular reason. But fortunately and has a great restaurant scene and a reasonable cost of living and all the shiat you need from a big city so it beats the decade I spent living in Brooklyn where you can make 6 figures and still need roommates to enjoy the restaurant scene.

Maybe MLB didn't care if the Yankees won or lost. What they wanted was for Judge to break the home run record to increase interest in the game. Just like McGwire and Sosa did years ago. So you send juiced baseballs to the Yankees vs whoever. The other teams benefit by hitting more home runs but it's spread out evenly over the rest of the AL so it's not that noticeable. The constant is that the Yankees and Judge consistently see juiced baseballs. What is noticeable is Judge hitting copious homers (hell, he probably didn't even know about the juiced baseballs other than they probably felt like superballs flying off his bat). Yeah, Judge was juicing just like Sosa, Bonds, et al. Just a different kind of juicing.

/anyhoo... I'll take off my tin foil hat now.

There is a saying in Houston "It's a shiatty place to visit but you do want to live here".   Not gonna lie, your city being between like 55-75 degrees all year round is pretty farking awesome.  Certainly my favorite on the west coast.

If you haven't been to Monterey please try it some time.  More damp climate but still temperate and really nice

What free agency value? He was signed for $360M/9 by the Yankees this morning. We didn't get a proper thread on it because Fark decided that a greenlight about a typo in a tweet from yesterday was good enough.

Best of luck to her.  A lot of lawyers try to give horror stories about why not to go to law school, but if she has a plan and sticks to it it will pay off.

or yanno, they test him like they test every other player in the league, and he had more to lose than any other player if he got busted, so why would he?

This whole story is at best a complete nothing given the sample size and the lax tolerances in the construction of baseballs (which are almost downright bespoke) and at worst a nefarious ploy by MLB (not by Judge or the Yankees) to drum up interest or maybe even somewhere in-between.
