Every time I read about his condition it makes me sad.

He was the rare "action star" who would take meaningful dramatic roles (Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, Sixth Sense, Unbreakable). I'm saddened that those roles were too few and (understandably with his condition) earlier in his career.

Forgot "Death Becomes Her", he was so good against type as someone under the thumb of others. And of course "The Fifth Element" which is just so much screen chewing fun all-around.

Uh oh. Theo just passed. If Bruce goes, who will be the third Die Hard star? Black guy who plays a cop almost as much as Dennis Franz? FBI guy who plays a drug dealer almost as much as the guy from Desperado who looks like a Latino Phil Hartman? Asshole EPA guy from Ghostbusters? Argyle?

When I binge-watched Friends in November, it was fun seeing him in that role and I totally forgot he was in it until the first episode that he was a guest in

That third star would be Bruce, considering Rickman passed a while ago.

First film I ever saw him in was In Country, which was terrific.   His part in Nobody's Fool was great, but the whole movie was great anyway.   World-class smartass long before he was an action hero smartass.

/someone saw it because they made the abysmal The Whole Ten Yards

Didn't Facebook already give him the Sinbad obituary treatment recently?  My wife told me last week Bruce had passed away  according to her Facebook friend and I was like  Christmas and Bruce there was no way that I would miss that bit of sad on Fark.

A good day.

That's all anyone with loved ones want when it's this advanced.

Last time I spoke to my grandmother, she knew how old I was, what day it was, where I was going to school, and she told me she loved me. That was her last good day, she died a few weeks later.

BorgiaGinz: 67 seems too early for dementia, even though it can strike at any age.

Early onset dementia is terrible.  My mother in law started showing signs of early onset Alzheimer's around 60 but was in denial for years and refused to get examined until a little over a year ago when it got so bad she couldn't remember where she was driving or how to get home.  She's 66 now and close to being unable to support herself.  She can't be left alone because she does stuff like leave the stove on, scream at the house cleaner for stealing her phone(when it's just on her nightstand), etc.  All of the travel plans and retirement plans are basically gone because there's no use doing any of it, and she's a serious liability when traveling because she gets easily confused and may leave the hotel room unexpectedly while you sleep.

I hope for his sake the aphasia hasn't taken his memory and non-vocal cognition.

I do wonder why they just dont call it what it is. Apahasia is a symptom.

Because Apahsia can exist on its own. If you have organ failure, that doesn't mean that you have HIV, but it can be a symptom. A cough, a runny nose, a fever, those are all symptoms of multiple diseases.

Well, they keep calling it aphasia, which is not dementia.  Course, it's not a disease by itself at all, which is why I find it stupid that they keep calling it that.  It's a symptom.  Plus, based on everything I've read, he has many more symptoms than just aphasia and they're quite consistent with dementia.

I'm guessing the family is just in denial and isn't using that word, but that's what it is.

As far as dementia, it can strike at any age, technically.  Even childhood alzheimers is a thing.

/There's news articles all the time around here about people with dementia that go missing and they're always super young... 50s and 60s.  Really scary.
//Bruce was a major alcoholic for many many years.  Apparently his liver survived but it seems his brain didn't.  Or it could be total coincidence... we don't know the cause for dementia.  Any of them.

He's young-ish for this kind of thing and they're in denial is my assumption.

I read TFA; did you?

"Bruce can't say much, and it doesn't seem like he's grasping much of what others say," the insider continued. "So Emma's really been the voice and communicator for him."

I've also read other articles, in Vanity Fair, for example: or Best Life

"Bruce seemed a little confused at times and needed a little more help with his lines. This was the first time that I had heard anything about his health," one source said. "At that point it seemed that he was a little off. We thought it could be anything from aging to maybe even being a little drunk-common mistakes that people make when seeing the first signs of anything like dementia-to just not wanting to be there."

There are multiple reports from different movie sets that Willis had cognitive issues that have worsened over the years. He has dementia.

Next time, instead of  jumping in like a cocky asshole, maybe consider that you don't know what you are talking about. Also, Bruce isn't going to f*uck you.

That was the first Bruce Willis movie I remember seeing. It was on TV when I was home sick from school when I was probably 11 or 12. I've pretty much been in love with him ever since. I love so many of his movies especially the SciFis! 12 monkeys, Looper, 5th Element. I seriously adore him to the point my fiance makes fun of me and calls Bruce my boyfriend. I honestly don't know what I'll do without Bruce Willis in the world. Part of me will die when he does.

I think Robert Davi-the senior FBI agent-is still around. I also think he's quite MAGA. And he and the younger FBI guy are closer in age than the great "I was in junior high, Dickhead" line would indicate.
It's Deputy Commissioner Duane that's passed on.

Isn't there still more of those movies Willis crammed in still to come? I saw one with Travolta advertised recently, maybe even to the theatres? He made something like two dozen of those things over the last few years.

Yeah how dare people try to make money! Why would they agree to hire a guy who's trying to make money for his family before he can't work anymore?  And then they took the work they all did and made money on it?  Like a farking job?!! Wtf.  Yeah they should definitely diaf, you farking psycho.

Aphasia isn't always permanent, as some people can recover, like those who have had a stroke. This isn't that kind, sadly.

Not really fair to call him an action star though. He was a "pretty boy" comedy star who got cast for an action movie and ended up being really good at it. That success gave him choices and so he went on to do cool stuff. A bit different than the stereotypical "action stars" of the era like Stallone/Schwarzenegger/Van Dammes who were more one-trick ponies.

Good for him too, because he was basically unwatchable in the SitCom role.
