The payment of witnesses' legal fees by a political group whose purse strings Trump controls, while not illegal, raises ethical concerns and poses a conflict, the Post says.

Ethical concerns AND a conflict?  We got him now boys!

"There's no bar against third parties paying for legal fees as long as it's disclosed to the client. The ethical obligation of the lawyer is to the client," Brand said.

Seems like the criminal justice system needs reforming if PAC money is being used to cover legal fees.

"while not illegal"
Cut them some slack here this was on short notice and they had to act fast.
Given time they would have devised something immoral, illegal  and utterly contemptible

Meanwhile there are no ethical concerns about the government  bringing its full power to bear on non-wealthy people, causing them to bankrupt themselves through ruinous legal fees.

FTFA: Another is the valet Walt Nauda, who told FBI agents that he had moved boxes at Trump's direction around his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida while the government was trying to retrieve documents and records that should have been preserved

Uh...I get the conflict, in theory, but I'm struggling to see it here.  He testified that Trump told him to hide documents from the government.  If that is the testimony AFTER Trump paid his legal fees, what would the "real" testimony have been?  Did the boxes have government documents AND dead hookers in them?

Or perhaps a valet decided this wasn't worth jail time and didn't perjure himself for Trump, especially after his lawyer told him the check already cleared.

Saying you moved the boxes explains his fingerprints on the boxes. My question is whether his finger prints are also inside the box, on the documents and the dead hookers.

Interesting... It's not illegal, but it seems to give the DOJ a new angle to investigate even so. Let 'em pay the bills if it gets some extra crimes to turn up in the investigation.

He didn't testify that. He said he moved boxes at Trump's direction. He made no claims about the contents of those boxes or any motive Trump might have had.

You should bring up those crucial subtleties at the next trial, they may be important.

Dead adults or live children undoubtedly.

The Constitution and laws are only for the common person. The founding fathers and all subsequent politicians made sure rich white men will never be held accountable for anything.

Trump Pac reportedly paid legal bills of Mar-a-Lago witnesses

Surely they'll be prosecuted for that.
