That would be the perfect gig for Michael Che.

Or Tre Crowder.

I think he worked there as a writer ages ago but didn't fit in for whatever reason.  Anyway, I'd love to see Patriot Act resurrected in some form - I'm still bitter over its cancellation.

I'd watch it with Sarah Silverman. And that's pretty much it.

There is still a chance to give the job to Jessica Williams, who should have gotten it in the first place.

She probably scared them off after her participation in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.  She wasn't bad, but the theaters that showed it are still in the process of disinfecting the projection booth.

I am excited to see Al on the air but he maybe a bit low key for this audience.

i have to admit, i stopped watching when Jon left. He was the one.

Comedy Central really is spoiled for choice.

Frankenstein was great on Air America. With a good writing staff, he'd be great. They probably have personal projects, but Tina Fey or Amy Poehler would be nice to see unleashes.

See, this is the sort of attitude that that keeps us from having nice things.  She was wonderful, and that's why they're disinfecting the projection booths.

The fact that you can acknowledge the results while putting minimal value on the actress is part of what is wrong with the world today.

Comedy Central can't afford wither of them

people like to pick on Craig Kilborn, but you have to admit he was excellent in Little Miss Sunshine

2022-12-06 10:30:21 PM
Franken would be the perfect pick. He's the only person that could return the show to its glory days, I think. Though it would be *brutally* political. He would name names. Stewart was great, but he kept it relatively "light". I don't think Franken would. It would basically be a show dedicated to tearing down conservatives, all the time. It almost wouldn't qualify as a comedy show at all. All  of which is fine, and indeed, needed.

Let's be honest...Trevor Noah was not funny.

2022-12-06 10:38:16 PM
Asiv Mandvi should have gotten the spot after Stewart left. Though maybe he wasn't interested.

But I'd love to see Mandvi show up in that list.

I did too. It had nothing to do with the news. That's been done to death. It was all about sexism and alcoholism and just being weird.

Really, every morning I watch the monologs of Colbert, Kimmel and Seth Myers from the night before and they're all the same news clips with approximately the same jokes.

IgG4: I am excited to see Al on the air but he maybe a bit low key for this audience.

He guest hosted Kimmel's show a few times. He's a really good radio host, but I think you're right, he's not really animated enough to work for this show. Like you need large amounts of energy, and he just doesn't have it anymore, if he ever did. Even his SNL characters tended to be low key.

Personally, I am rooting for Roy Wood, Jr.. I have always loved that guy.

Yeah, political commentary would be novel and refreshing. That sort of thing is hard to find these days.

Please no.

Trevor Noah was an awful choice.

They dun goofed by not grabbing John Oliver, which could have reigned him in over what his HBO show has become.

it should of ended with that last knucklehead

I'm looking forward to seeing Al Franken host. He has a lifetime of experience and knowledge of both comedy and politics to bring to the table. An excellent choice.

If it were entirely open, I would still like to see Sandi Toksvig as the regular host. I thought that she would be ideal for it after Jon Stewart left and my mind hasn't changed since. At that time she had just left after hosting The News Quiz on Radio 4 and it seemed a natural step to move from there to the vacant spot at The Daily Show.

I liked Craig Kilborn on that show. There was some funny stuff.
It actually took a while for me to warm up to Craig Ferguson taking over, but of course he became amazing. I miss them both.
