Eh, okay.  I'll start.

It's ALMOSTlike Nancy, Chuck, and the committee members knew the midterms were coming and they would probably lose seats.

It's ALMOSTlike they decided to run as long as they could to fully utilize the time committee had available.

It's ALMOSTlike they understood that they could send referrals at the 11th hour if they lost their majorities.

It's ALMOSTlike they know sending referrals to the DOJ will make GQP farkery harder next session.

But that can't be it, because that would mean the Eeyores DON'T know more about this stuff than the trained professionals.

Good Try was the reply to the reporter who thought he could get Thompson to tip his hand on the scope and targets ahead of the actual referrals.

This is just the thing to get Garland to stop ignoring Trump and other high-level Republicans. This will get our DOJ to act, just like they did against Mark Meadows and how they threw the book at Bannon. Things are really going to start moving now!

I am glad to see it, but I seem to recall Bennie stating at the start that they explicitly were NOT going to do any criminal referrals.  Wonder what changed their minds?

Some staffers that we've never heard of are going to see some time in prison for following orders. The high ranking people that gave them the orders won't be prosecuted.

That's their job. It's not like the DOJ has been waiting for Congress to reveal that there are crimes here considering the DOJ has already made arrests and convictions. Congressional investigations are always political in nature and the point of this one was to keep the criminal acts of 1/6 in the headlines. They could probably have done a few more years of hearings if they had kept the House.

The PURPOSE was not for criminal referrals, it was to gather the information, whether or not referrals were to happen depending on the evidence obtained. I'm sure some low level coffee boy shall get the blame and TFG shall be determined to be the victim of another political witch hunt.

Huh, I forgot about that and to answer H&P's question, probably the other members on the committee, as per your linked article, that immediately pushed back on the idea of giving the results before the hearings.

Good try at what? Like they're trying to trick him into revealing Oscar winners before the show? It would be absolutely tragic if we had any transparency.

To be fair though, his statement didn't seem to be very popular with the rest of the committee.

So the committee didn't change course, Bennie did.

On what date can we agree that, if nothing has happened yet, nothing's gonna happen? Because otherwise Polyannas might as well also say that I'm going to bed with Anna Kendrick. It's gonna happen. Just keep waiting.

Not a single Polyanna has ever responded to this question. Wanna step up to the plate?
