swaniefrmreddeer: Um, approx 5% of the worlds population uses imperial. Imperial is defined by metric measurements. Fahrenheit is  just metric with more steps. Metric makes way more sense, 0 water freezes, 100 it boils, easy peasy.

But it's -15 f, -27 f with the windchill.

Imperial as it pertains to weather temperature is the superior method of recording temps. It more clearly describes the effect on the body. E.g. 100F is very hot, 0F is very cold.

Celsius is best for anything that requires knowing when water boils.

I agree metric for everything else, but people don't realize how expensive it would be. Every, single, road sign that mentions "miles". Every piece of food packaging. How many computers and computations that would need to be changed from satellites to water pumps. It's just not feasible for America anymore.
