Why would anybody ask for Mike Pence's opinion?

No one likes you, Mike.

They are all cowards but no one wants to be the last coward.  Little by little and then, all at once.

/or someone else, the Republicans should be forced to carry Trump to term even if it endangers the party

Well, I hope you're right, but the 'all at once' part really should have happened on January 6, 2020. If more Republican leaders had found their spines at that time and denounced TFG and his cronies, we might have seen the dam break then. But they didn't. Instead, every filthy coward had a damp, sticky finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing. Now they've all but normalized flaunting the law, up to and including instigating a god-damned coup, because they don't want to risk losing the fascist racist seditionist demographic that's become such a vocal part of their constituency. So color me doubtful that any of them will ever stick their neck out in a way that makes them look like a traitor to the Trump cult, even if TFG ever gets convicted of seditious conspiracy and locked up.

I wouldn't call that a swing as much as a noodley slap.

It should have occurred after he expressed his support for white supremacists in Charlottesville.  Actually, earlier when he bragged about sexual assault.  Actually, earlier when he spearheaded a racist birther campaign against Obama.

His depravity is not a factor.  They will dump him because he is a loser.

He was a loser a month ago, and he was a loser two years ago. I hope you're right, and they'll finally dump him when he loses his criminal cases and loses his freedom. Unfortunately, facts don't seem to have a great deal of impact on his cultists' opinions.

He lost in the 2018 midterms, 2018 Georgia by-election, 2020 by 7 million votes, lost the 2022 midterms and and is going to lose in the 2nd Georgia by-election tomorrow.  He will be 0 for 5 in national elections.  He's officially f$cking toxic.  Hershel Walker didn't even want him showing up to help him.

The mentally handicapped baby aborter did not want to be dragged down by Trump.  Let that sink in.

He farked the GOP pretty hard this last election.  And he keeps taking their money.  Remains to be seen if they're dumb enough to rally to him if it seems like the common clay of the new west isn't deserting him.

How about that time Mike Pence almost got abducted by rogue Secret Service agents?

Good times, good times.

Also, I hate the picture in the article

Seriously.  That was a limp wristed slap with a talc glove.  Wanting public servants to actually honor their oaths of offices should go without saying.  Why there aren't immediate consequences for violating an oath of office, like immediate expulsion without impeachment or trial because of overwhelming evidence of behavior past and present, I can only attribute to the Founding Fathers actually believing honor was the currency of the realm for public service.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised since they were all white Anglo-Dutch slave owning rich guys.

Thanks to his WWE appearances, I have to believe that this is kayfabe meant to make the GOP look better. I mean, Trump can't look any worse at this point, and that "fark the Constitution" tweet only lets the GOP take a couple of steps up towards higher moral ground, biatching at Trump all the while.

The GOP had no difficulty undermining the Constitution when they worked out their attack plan for screwing the 2020 election with Trump, after all - Pence was right there with him until it was time for him to fish or cut bait, and Mike broke out a bucket & knife instead of a rod & reel.

Doesn't matter.  All you need is to see the party and Fox News finally desert him, then your hang him like an albatross on the party's neck every election.

Basically, once Trump is widely viewed as objectively bad, we can demonize individual candidates for having backed him.  Not overtly, just "chingaquedito*, which has no translation from Spanish but roughly means to fark over subtly.  It's not effective if you do it once, but it's effective if you do it all the goddamn time.

"I remember back when Senator X made an appearance with Trump he said we should supprt total abortion bans".  "Back when Congresswoman Y endorsed Trump for president, her  campaign was investigated for violations". "Senator Z has been serving a long time.  I was with him when we were evacuated during the January 6th riots that Trump instigated and members of his party led, and he knew the building inside and out as we were evacuating.  He even gave tours a few days before, that's how long he's been here and how well he knows the place."

You just have to do it subtly so that no single mention is reason for the media to say that the Democrats are bringing up Trump, but enough that you associate the brand with his fat face in voters minds.

It will never change the die hard fans.  But it can sway the middle, and it will definitely brand them.  The GOP is really good at branding.  They've branded the democrats over and over again.  They won in 2016 because they spent YEARS doing brand recognition on Hillary.  That's what we need to do to them, and Trump is who we do it with.

So exactly like before in his initial primary where they could all talk about how they wouldn't support him...until they all did. These farking fools. If they had swung at him in 2015 or 2016 when the world needed them to, they'd have had a chance. Now it's much too late; Trump is the establishment Republican Party. He's the Chairman. He is the party, and the party is he.

I expect many Republicans to learn this lesson the hard way over the next several years, and in the smoldering ruins of their political careers nothing of value will have been lost.

The instant Trump offers him another VP slot, he'll go back to simping.

Then Trump will make someone else the VP and Pence will pretend to have principles until the next moment it is more politically convenient to simp for him again.

It's a party of cucks. They enjoy being humiliated by him.
