Keep doing this in an open carry state. The follow-up tagged story will be worth it for the rest of us.

"It would just be very unfortunate for any kind of prank to go the wrong way..."

...*wink*...

"...and in this situation that could've happened and we're glad that it didn't," said Hutchins.

"Won't someone rid me of this meddlesome prankster?"

Can a person run fast enough, while recording, to dodge a thrown shopping cart?

We're gonna find out!

2022-12-05 3:23:02 PM
Calmly just move the shopping carts blocking your car's way, out of the way enough to leave, then leave. Wigging out just gives them what they're looking for, and it's not that big a deal to just move shopping carts out of the way slightly.

Someone's going to FAFO and get shot. The cops will laugh and not arrest the shooter. They'll probably give them a medal.

I honestly can't think of a single social media prank that has ever been funny to me. Maybe I'm missing one but for some reason they all tend to be incredibly immature people that are out to either destroy property, or simply ruin someone's day. If we're lucky, we'll have more charges brought and even deaths of people doing these things and maybe they'll stop thinking it's a great idea to piss people off.

"He kept saying his manager Dave told him to do that. So, I turned around, went back into the store looking for this Dave," said Love.
A store manager told Love there's no Dave and went back outside with her.

So, how is this that different from when some jerk leaves their shopping cart blocking you in? You just move the shopping carts.

It took her two hours to move 3 or 4 shopping carts from behind her vehicle?

Oh, right. She had to Karen first. LOL

Well yeah, ofc.

But that's not going to happen 10 times out of 10. People wigging out is our new national past time.

I was going to say something similar, but it looks like she parked far enough away in a pretty empty lot.  People who park in two spaces are assholes, yes. But less so when the lot is empty.

Two ways to combat this...

1) If this is in an area without anyone else, and there is a reasonable expectation of privacy: "I do not consent to recording this conversation." - if they continue in my State, they're in violation of eavesdropping/wiretap laws.
2) If this for the creation of monetized content or to be housed on a monetized channel, "I do not consent to the use of my name, image, or likeness."

Sorry. Apparently the car in the image and the car in the actual clip were different scenarios.

Douchey parking fine, but other than that, that's worth an ass whoppin'.

Do this at Aldi and hook all the carts together.

The driver would have to go back in and buy a roll of quarters.

Um.  Don't most parking lots have security cameras?

So, that leaves it up to the store's staff to have to deal with this bullshiat, something that they, unfortunately already have to do thanks to the people who simply won't return their shopping carts to the cart corral.
I think you're missing the point here.
We should be trying to make lives for other people easier. We should be trying to make lives easier for ourselves as well. This is not the way to go about doing that. Especially so a bunch of chuckle f*cks on TikTok or YouTube can to get their kicks.
The whole "turn the other cheek"  approach only encourages these assholes.
I'm not saying this should be killed for stupid stuff like this but I don't think a couple weeks (Even just weekends!) in jail would at least make these sophomoric twits think twice before they decided to, oh I don't know, start doing this to people who are handicapped and/or simply elderly. Don't say I didn't warn you. This is going to be the next step they take.

For that to make sense, the two pranksters would also have to be spend 2 hours during the encounter, which seems odd. They don't sound like the super patient type.

No see, that's thinking with your noodle. If somebody's taking up two parking spaces, parked horizontally over a handicap spot or otherwise just generalize shiat parking, I think that would be totally appropriate lol!

No worries here. Most shopping carts are gone, taken by the homeless months ago. What I despise about many homeless is how selfish they are. They take one cart, use it, keep it, and then go take another and another. There are four Target carts as I type across the street at the homeless camp. Lazy and selfish.

/ I'll be homeless soon so I can fight them on their level.

Aye. Americans are not known for their emotional intelligence.

I'd put MORE carts around my truck if I came out of the store and found that. I'd just keep stacking them all around and on top - I'd put them in the bed, on the hood, etc. I got all day, you f*cking punks. Let's DO this.

Yeah, I can't see filliping out if no damage is done. The worst part of the prank is how uncreative it is.

Is it wiretapping/eavesdropping if you're in a public space, and you can clearly see then recording you?

If so, why aren't all security cameras illegal where you live?

/I hated that law in USA, because it caused Microsoft to remove the "record a call" feature from their cell phone. Something that is completely legal in Denmark.

If the carts didn't obscure the lines you're supposed to park between, maybe we would be considering why the victim is allowed to be driving legally. Reminds me of the taxi parking job in Airplane!

Or you're unaware that a stepped-on (i.e. presumably smashed) phone will actually stop recording.

Because it's broken. Nothing to do with the cloud. No one said anything about steppy-smashy destroying the existing recording, either.
