I'm enjoying seeing Elon jerk these people around.  They pride themselves on being smarter than everyone else.

Because there isn't anything that hasn't already been reported on. Hunter Biden was already known to be a hot addicted mess of a person with shady business dealings around the world.

The IRS was already on his ass for not paying taxes on these dealings, Hunter avoided charges by paying the back taxes in full.

Also, to be fair to Twitter and other news outlets at the time, the whole story of how this laptop got to a podunk computer repair shop run by a legally blind guy in Delaware while Hunter Biden was in California is still weird and fishy AF.

However, the computer and files do appear to be real, but they've been disected and reported on already.

I don't understand how this is a violation of free speech.  Not saying it wasn't wrong for them doing it over hurting orange turds fee fees.   even as a government entity you can request stuff be taken down.  it is still up to the private company do what it wants to do and give the government a middle finger.  while the first amendment allows you to say anything you want, it is not without consequences.  IE yell bomb on a plane, or fire in a crowded place.   I bet eventually in the "twitter files" you will see some FBI/Homeland ect..  asking for terrorist stuff to be taken down or banned. again, asking for it to do.

I don't think it was a 1A thing.  I think removing Trumps Tweets was a violation of the Presidential Records Act.

playing devil's advocate here.  what if they were backed up and handed over to the appropriate government records team?  I don't know the PRA and would hate to read it due to all the lawyer speak.  If the PRA stated that Twitter had to have this data presented and showing for good means the government would need to fund them to stay in operation (maybe this is what Musk is hoping for lol jk)

The First Amendment protects you from. The government telling you what you can or can't say. For instance Joe Biden's Campaign asking Twitter to remove his son's Dick Pics from Twitter is not a First Amendment Vi ...

I didn't see that one or more twitter files and what they asked to be removed.  However, I know campaign and staffing get blurred when getting into office.  However, as I said, I wouldn't be surprised if government agencies ask Twitter and others to remove items all the time these items would be about national security or terriorist style activity IE. Now if it is a demand or else, then yeah it would bounce up against the First Amendment.  due to Twitter being private and somewhat anonymous.  If the posts were made by let's say Chinese bots would it still bounce up against the 1st?  who knows.  lots of legal leeway and wiggle room these lawmakers make for themselves but not for us kind of thing.  or is it where the data lives? IE in sanfran? what if twitter decentralized the data around the globe..
