So, a casino on the border of Indiana and Kentucky.  I'm guessing the cuisine will be heavy on  cigarette sandwiches and despair soufflé

Opening a shop that your celebrity is attached to, in a casino, in a place that the that casino is the biggest draw in the area (locals are not going to Vegas regularity), but those locals feel connected because gambling or something, is probably a good bet.

So a restaurant that seats 170.  In a town of 162 people.   I get it... riverboat gamblers.

/i don't get it but still

I still think he should open a place called "Hell's Kitchen" in whatever the f*ck state has a town called Hell.

No, I don't remember which one, and no, I'm not gonna look it up.

Haven't been to Elizabeth, but I stayed in the state park about 30 miles north of there and went to the Starlight distillery which was excellent. The folks in that part of the country are almost universally nice (at least it's you're white, can't speak to the experience of minorities though I doubt it would be quite as nice based on how they vote).

The campgrounds in Christmas MI are very nice  both the county park and pictures rocks RV. Haven't made it to Hell yet, it's 45 minutes from where my family gathers every summer but an hour and a half is too long to buy a novelty shirt =)

Whenever I want to fetch me some good vittles, Indiana is the first place I think of. But only at the fanciest casino in town. I ain't no greenhorn.

The casino is owned by Ceasars, so Ramsay probably didn't have much of a choice. I'm guessing that he has a contract with Ceasars so they can use his name on any restaurant they want to. If they want to open a Gordon Ramsay restaurant in their casino in Moose Knuckle, Manitoba, they can, and je doesn't have much say

I'd be surprised if Ramsey didn't get a veto for exactly situations like this where putting the restaurant in a backwater would tarnish your brand.

What I think is more likely, is that Ramsey is a whore and doesn't give a fark anymore so long as he gets paid.

Six of one...

It's Indiana/Kentucky, people will come from miles around just for the novelty of eating at one of Ramsey's restaurants.  Plus events/marriages.  Staying power will last for at least a few years, more if he stops in every so often and stays famous.  It's also going to be way cheaper to operate than in NYC or LA.  Also, looks like it's pretty close to Kentucky Kingdom, so there's that.

As opposed to casinos in other places?  They're all farking creepy.  Watching people just mindlessly press a lever as they pour money they can't afford to lose down a drain.

Hell already has a biker bar and a diner, and Gordon Ramsay ain't about to put either one out of business. I suggest he set up shop in Pinckney and go for the suburban crowd.

Gordon Ramsay is doing no such thing, subby. "Gordon Ramsay Restaurants North America" is opening a restaurant. He's almost certainly never heard of Elizabeth, IN.

It is right across the river from Louisville KY.  So the fact the town itsself has a population of 162 is not relevant.  It is drawing from 1.3M people in Louisville.

Now we all know Gordon Ramsey will likely set foot in the place once.  They will do some grand opening dinner where they invite all the folks that have lost a lot of money at the casino in for a "free" steak.

just go to the exchange in New Albany. (aprox 10 min north of the casino)... directly across from downtown Louisville.  lots of good restaurants in Louisville also.  casino food seems to be designed to extract any small winnings back out of the people before they leave the property... and smokers aren't known for their discerning palate.

Should open one in Gary, too.  That way they could advertise about being in Gary & Elizabeth Indiana.

Louisville is one city I was really disappointed to have to go to and then completely changed my mind after actually spending time there.  Great city, amazing food, friendly people, and tons of well-preserved Victorian architecture.

business people whoring for money?  Say it ain't so!

Chef Ramsey would open a resto in Best Korea if he was paid enough in personal endorsement fees.  He'd serve Pla-Doh as a main dish if sponsored, and cook on Hexclad Hexavalent Chromium-lined pans if a greasy-enough wad of cash was thrust into his apron-pocket.

That farker has no shame, only an empty place in his wallet where his soul used to be.

/just kidding, he never had a soul.
