Maybe the mayor should bitcoin harder

Gonna be hard for New York to beat the sheer dickishness of Qatar: banning beer days before the competition starts, banning gays, banning any 'gay' symbol or flag (including welsh rainbow hats), randomly arresting reporters etc.
Can NY rise to the challenge?

Hey hey... not so fast.  The US isn't a dictatorship yet, so don't count on being eligible to host until we know for sure.

Eligible?  The awarding is already done and has been for years.

The fastest way to improve NYC transit is to get the homeless off the streets.

Just in time for El Presaidente Por la Vita Generalissimo Billionairo Elono Muskoil..

Maybe we can ask Qatar to loan NYC some of their slaves, er, volunteer workers, to speed things up.

This explains Mayor COVIDs plan to arrest people for being too poor to afford housing.

If NYC wants better entertainment tourists they have four years to get back old Times Square. If you wanted to see some balls kicked around, that was the place.

we're already meeting FIFA corruption goals

Sure about that?  Meeting FIFA corruption goals is a big lift.

Jerryworld isn't within 15 miles of a bus line, much less a tram line. I'm sure NY is aces by comparison.

Every time Biden gives a speech somewhere there's a homeless problem, the homeless magically disappear from the area, so it's definitely possible to do.

How many soccer stadiums, Stupid?

All of the US stadiums are purpose built these days.  You can't play in any baseball or football parks because a soccer field won't fit and the collegiate fields are too small.  The Genovese and Shulaya mobs are literally drooling.

2022-12-04 3:12:01 PM
NYCs transit is still far better than Qatar, whose transit is non existent or the new ones in place are so shiat, they have guys in megaphones telling people where to get a bus

2022-12-04 4:10:04 PM
1. Eric Adams is a schmuck.

2. Transit already gets NYCers out to MetLife Stadium. I guess you can set up more busses, but nothing to piss yourself about.

2022-12-04 4:55:54 PM
There's nothing wrong with the MTA it's a victim of its own success.  Shutting parts of it down to do maintenance or improvements is hard and expensive because there are like 6 billion farking rides on it every year

I'd go just to protest but I don't want to get my rights taken away when they do a massive police crack down.

And depending on who wins in 2024 you'll either:

- not be allowed to wear any lgbt rainbow gear or you'll be shot
- forced to wear lgbt rainbow gear or be shot

So you're saying both sides are bad?

Who should I vote for then?

Um...  every stadium that is going to be used is already constructed.  But you be stupid.

Here's the list:  https://www.2026worldcupnorthamerica.com/fifa-football-final-world-cup-soccer-2026/

The Barca vs Juve match I saw in the Meadowlands (Metlife) was awesome.  Will be a great final there.

It's a dig at FIFA for the 2018 and 2022 awards.  Football insider joke.

Here's a radical idea, why not collaborate with NJ Transit to shuttle fans from NYC to The Meadowlands efficient.

I know this is a foreign concept in both NY and NJ though. Especially with the transit departments.

I'm just a little pissy they decided to not build the 10th Avenue station in Hells Kitchen after the '08 crash. Would have made my commute a lot better.

It's a solid plan. The homelessness is out of control. Penn Station and the 10 block area around it is a stupid exercise in crap people crapping in the streets and harassing innocent residents.

No dudes, just stop smoking pot or smoking crack and maybe you could get yourself a place to live?

Yeah, and Newark needs a better airport in time for the 2026 World Cup. It's not gonna happen, but, like NYC transit, it'll be functional.

It's not that both sides are bad. They're the same. Human. We need sets of candidates that aren't completely off the rails, trying their hardest to be the polar opposite of the other party.

Since however that isn't going to happen then I'd just like to say, while I still can, that it's been a good ride I think. 250 years of democracy isn't too shabby.

You do know that the NYC area has two MLS teams right? They both play in MLS approved venues and all MLS fields are within FIFA regulations.

I didn't realize that they would play nationwide.

It gives the people who need a place to stay and a meal to eat and a job to work a place where all of those are provided.

If you can't take care of yourself, you are sentenced to be a ward of the state. This is a choice. Either choose to be a productive member of society or we'll handle the problem ourselves and you'll probably not like the results.

This is the same way that Section 8 Housing isn't living at the Ritz Carlton. It sucks and anyone with any sense of self worth will want to get out of that situation as fast as humanly possible.

Prison in the US is dehumanizing, and that you're wanting to use them as slave labour on top of that is just making you look like an even bigger asshole.

They need homes, not steel bars and prison guards.

Homes require someone to actively want it. People who are unable to keep themselves housed do not make good homeowners or tenants.

They don't know that a toilet running is bad. Or that little bugs lead to bigger ones if not addressed. Or that regular replacement of caulk joints keeps things in tip top shape.

Where to you imagine people who can't provide for themselves are going to access the materials and knowledge of caring for the property that now inhabit? That costs LOTS of money, money they don't have.

I guess expecting people to take care of themselves is a step too far?

Also, it's not slavery. They are paid. They  are just charged rent and food against their wages like everyone else on this planet.

Don't want to spend life behind bars? Don't threaten women and push them in front of trains. This isn't hard.

Also, it's not jail that he's talking about. Eric Adams is involuntarily committing people who are insane. That's good.
