Yup. One whole side of our house is windows windows windows. I love birdwatching and we moved here partly due to the wooded nature of the area.

Took one spring before we had to put decals on most windows. Rehabbing birds and disposing of their corpses got real old real fast.

Many mirrored buildings have caused things to melt when the sun hits them just right.  Would be worried about outdoor furniture melting/fading and worse yet maybe some woods catching fire.

How thick is the glass?  We get a few storms here in GA and between the branches and the hail, I can see a lot of steady employment for the local glass repair franchise.

You want to be invisible in the mountains?  Don't build a McMansion.  Build something that compliments the surroundings.

It's not rocket surgery.

$600K for an 1100sq ft house on less than an acre in a 3rd world state.
Regardless of the weird factor, what a stupid purchase. If you have a family, I guess your kids would be able to read at a 6th grade level and have the Bible memorized just in time to graduate and work in the sludge factory.

There are some really beautiful areas in eastern Tennessee.

Sevierville is on the north edge of the Smokies near Gatlinburg. Rural feeling, with lots and lots and lots of people really close by.

We've stayed in cabins there in the past when hiking in the Smokies. This will most likely be an investment/rental property, like so many of the cabins down there.

How long before the sun blinds a driver on that road?

Years ago, there was a building along I-75 in Atlanta with a reflective coating on the glass like that. Right around sunset, the glare would blind Southbound drivers. GDOT finally sued to have the coating removed.

This is Dolly Parton country.

As said upstream, this is a second house or investment property. I like the area a lot, but there is no way I'd buy THAT house.

1100 sq feet is now a McMansion or is it just houses you don't like are a McMansion?

A vinyl wrap would be better than mirrored. Except all the plastic. Maybe a mural. Reflective house is stupid.

No idea if this would be in a HOA, but there are areas in and around there that have HOAs. Last time we rented a cabin it was in an HOA area. Of course, these cabins are back in the woods rather than right next to each other in a suburb with grass all the same height/color.

Our living room's southern wall is 80% window. I put Collidescape on the outside of the windows. It's perforated plastic that looks like a white wall from the outside, but it's black on the inside and not very noticeable. Also put it on the kitchen windows, because that's where most of the feeders are. Only had one hit in the past two years, where it used to be an almost weekly occurance.
