I can't believe Newport has a little Ripley's spot.

Jack Palance really made that franchise something. That iconic, mysterious voice. The weathered face with the glint in his eye. Without Palance, Ripley's would have disappeared long ago.

The saddest part of this, to me as a Jersey boy, is that there are still so many other things in Atlantic City that should've closed before this.

I grew in Ocean City NJ. I remember when gabling came. It was going to transform and rejuvenate the city. Forty years later and it still sucks.

Oh no, a ticky tacky tourist trap is going away.  Can you get rid of the one in Hollywood next, please?

Aw man.  I went there a few years ago on an East Coast jaunt.  The ticket seller was a girl from Lithuania who had THEE most delightfully musical accent I've ever heard, and I've spoken with people from Jamaica.  I just wanted to put her in my pocket and take her home.

Among the things they had on display was a good-sized chunk of the Berlin Wall.

So did I. I visited the LA museum about 30 years ago and was badly disappointed.

Been there many times, then you grow up or die in the inside and enjoy the Mutter Museum more.

I hear they are investing mad off shore power down there now. That's good for the 100 people that still go to casinos...

The one in Amsterdam was a nice break from the more serious museums we visited.

Just to reiterate on the aquarium thing:

Also, Ripley's has a slew of attractions in Gatlinburg, with packages. I bought my son and his family packages so they could hit up a ton of places while they were there.

Atlantic City? Ugh.... It's only a destination for retired people to gamble away their kids inheritance.
