List fails without The Black Cauldron. But not too far behind is the Song of the South.

I have several of the movies in this list. On Laserdisc no less.

Meet the Feebles.

Peter Jackson made over a billion dollars with homoerotic hobbits and can't get a distributor for his debut film?

Also, Heavenly Creatures.

Absolutely not. Also, either you're into Smith's lazy-boi pseudo-philosophizing or you can't stand him. I actually like Clerks.

But the best, by far, is Strange Days.

It's a shiatty movie. I'm a Pink Floyd fan, but that movie sucks. It has some interesting *scenes*, but it's unbelievably dull.

That said, if you weren't alive in 1982, "The Wall" is a pretty good example of the weird kind of apocalyptic melancholy mood that was in the air in the first half of the 80s. It was a weird time to grow up in.

Strange Days and The Brave Little Toaster are both so good. That would be a heck of a double feature.

A great, great movie that is available on Blu-ray, but never on cable and not on streaming is To Live And Die In L.A..

And half the actual album is farking filler. I've felt that way since it was released. And weirdly, The Final Cut, which was supposedly the filler has stronger material than the weaker shiat on The Wall. In any case, that shiat should have been Waters solo. Gilmour had 2 (3?) solo records by then and when was Fictitious Sports?

Amen to this. Paid through the nose for a used copy of To Live and Die in LA; it was worth every penny.

Strange Days is a bizarrely underrated movie (although, to be honest, it would probably be much better if they cut about 20 minutes or so out of it).

Heavenly Creatures is great, but it may just be that it never got a wild release in the states, but it's the perfect story for a netflix documentary.

Regarding Dogma

Its legacy has not been helped by the fact that it is still unavailable on streaming or for rent, nor has it even been released on Blu-ray

They must mean it's not currently available on Blul-ray, as I have the blu-ray.

Looking this up it is indeed not currently available on blu-ray, at a reasonable price at least.

Have Meet the Feebles on dvd. The lady and I each have a copy of the collector ed. Of Dogma and she someone picked up a regular version on dvd somewhere along the way, and Stranger Days. To the person with the They Live pic, they've released a 4k version which is on my pick up list.

It played in 57 theaters in the US.  It's an excellent film, and adapted from a true story.  IIRC, one of the girls grew up to be a very successful Gothic historical fiction writer (under a different name, of course)

Disney will never put Song of the South on Disney Plus, and they will never license it out on any other streaming service.

As of December last year Jackson was still working on 4K releases of his early splatter films, so hopefully that's still coming down the pipeline.

No love for The Fall?  It was an interesting movie that used a ton of real locations for its, "fantasy" elements.  The story itself is surprisingly dark in its premise and yet it emotionally pays off in the end.

Second film. His first was Bad Taste. If you haven't seen it, do so. It stars Peter Jackson as a Motherwell fan who fights to save humanity from being harvested for food by an alien fast food franchise. It's great. It has some spectacular set pieces, particularly one near the end involving a chainsaw.

What the movie doesn't mention, because it wasn't publicized until after its release, is that one of the girls became a famous mystery writer. Anne Perry is actually Juliet Hulme.

That Chris Penn / Eric Stoltz one, "The Wild Life", is long gone. I think it has to do with getting some soundtrack rights from Eddie Van Halen. I've always wanted to see it again.

Disney's version of Lloyd Alexander's The Black Cauldron is a complete and utter fail. First, it is a combination of the first two "Chronicles of Prydain" that Alexander wrote. Second, it loses, like, 90% of the emotional impact of the actual book The Black Cauldron. Other than LeGuinn's Earthsea series, Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain is the among the most misrepresented fantasy books on film...well, other than the Disney version of A Wrinkle in Time which is a apocalyptic travesty.

Would love to see all 5 of Alexander's works on film, esp. Taran Wanderer and The High King. If I win the Powerball, that's my first order of business.

Please, on Blu-Ray! Or, you can put a zock in it, as far as I'm concerned.
