Freeze the bank accounts of the folks whose job it is to certify the votes, and garnish their wages 100% (if they get paid a flat rate monthly, garnish them pro-rata, rounded up to the next quarter-month), until such time as they do the job they were supposed to have done at least a week ago.

wow.  a really rural border county (which is home to Fort Huachuca, meaning military presences tend to be pro-conservative), with its largest town (Bisbee, AZ) of 5,000, refusing to certify?  shocked.

the mistake the R's made was, choosing Cochise County.  That falls under the federal district court in Tucson (pima county, but Tucson tends to be Democrat).  the Rs should have used their conniving, under-the-table chicanery to have a county under the Phoenix district (maricopa county, a few others in central-west AZ) to hear the suit.  tucson federal court, vs. phoenix federal court is a huge difference.

best part:  Arizona can certify the election without Cochise.  endgame?  Republicans lose a House seat.

/cunning plan, not thoroughly thought out, etc.

Even Ducey (said to be quietly exploring a 2024 Senate run, as Sinema's seat will be up) rebuffed Trump, by saying Hobbs should certify the election.  subtext of course, "all this 'stop the steal', 'election fraud' stuff is complete BS!".

Sinema is toast, BTW.  whereas Kelly - admittedly in his own race vs Brake Masters - had to run his campaign, he was very vocal about supporting Dems.  Sinema?  completely missing in action.  one can argue, "as unpopular as she is, would her endorsement have helped?", fair point, at least make the effort.  I don't see her making it past primary.  she severely pissed off Dems.

I have ties to a few people that, uh, "know people" in the party, and the knives are gonna be the fark out for her.  she can take her shiatty little smart ass curtsy and fark the hell off, go curtsy your ass to your book deal.

Yep.

However, one of the GQP members didn't attend the court-ordered meeting, so he's taunting the judge.  I don't think the judge will take kindly to such behavior.

no, it's Cochise, an Apache chief (no, no the Beastie Boys alter ego of Adam Yauch).  he fought the US Army to a stalemate and the Army offered peace.  Even though my tribe hated the Apache, it is a kinda cool story.

that area, southeast AZ, bordering New Mexico and Mexico, is high country.  Mountainous, rugged, grassy plains...beautiful.

They didn't establish precedent.  To establish precedent you have to actually suceed with you attempt.  "I tried" isn't precedent.  If anything, this works against them.  If some GQP farkturtles try to refuse to certify, they can be forced to, since the established precedent is this judge telling the farkturtles to pound sand.

no, that would be Nogales.  Bisbee is about....enhhh....15-20mi north of the border.  that would be one long farking tunnel.

Nogales is literally, take one step, you're in Mexico.  I went a few years ago.  Going to MX was nothing.  coming back?  passport, they (US Customs) took a photo, a basic "who are you, what's your business?" series of questions.

irony is, for all of "RAWR RAWR RAWR, build the wall, coyotes are smuggling drugs in backpacks over the border!", all tht Kari Lake bullshiat?  NOPE.  there are probably 300 semi trucks an hour (and, private vans/trucks, hell, cars), coming over the border.  Customs cherrypicks maybe, pffft, I don't know, 15 semis, vans/cars that don't quite look right, to inspect. most get waived over without a check. numbers game.

the vast, over the fark whelming majority of drugs coming over not just the border, but the seaports, is done "legally".  for every covote lugging a backpack of heroin, there are probably, pffft, 300+ semis a day (at least) in Nogales alone, bringing substance A, B, or C over.

yeah but she's narcissist as fark.  i don't know.  interestingly, she "only" beat her Tucson based opponent 50.0% to 47.7%.  Thing is, McSally - an Air Force veteran from Tucson - lost Pima (Tucson) county, Maricopa County, and Coconino county.  Those counties AMAZING COINCIDENCE happen to be the homes of Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff, the three most populated counties in the state.  McSally fairly cleaned up the rural counties.

not saying McSally will run again, but, I could see Narcisstinema running again.  "hey, i won last time, I carried the big 3, Ducey ain't shiat...."  but the Dem candidates, as I said above, will farking carve her for her lack, this cycle alone, for not backin ghte Dems.  I can't see Hobbs banging the drum for her either, when there's a lot of "new blood" cming up for the Dems.

I've noticed on the news that whenever they make a big drug bust that if the suspect is from Mexico, or really any minority, we know about it.  So any drug bust where they never show the accused or mention the name, it's probably safe to assume it was a white US Citizen (this was also true when I lived in Denver, BTW).  Media has been trying really hard to make sure we associate drug problem with migrants and asylum seekers and it's not the same people.

When the red hats complain about open borders, they really mean open borders.

They want no immigration or foreign trade, at all. They truly believe America can wall itself off from the rest of Earth and be a self-sufficient utopia.
