If the penalty is a fine, then the law only punishes the poor.

Illegal with a fine means legal for a price.

there was someone back in the 80s/90s who was convicted of using stamps paid with tax dollars to send campaign materials. We had laws and we actually enforced them.

It's not a crime if it's not enforced.

It's probably a composited background and he's not actually there, so chexmix, libbies.

Perhaps Susan Collins has a few "concerns" but she's sure he's learned his lesson.

He probably just had a "case of the vapors!"

2022-12-01 11:31:05 AM
You'd think that after his recent tangles with Georgia's Fani Willis, that Blanche would get the message that being a senator doesn't put you completely above the law...that they won't be enforced -- that prosecutors are completely scared of prosecuting a guy like him...

...but here we are -- again

You sound privileged.  Laws are always used to keep folks "in their place" and you should understand that.

I kinda think it is. I'd rather follow the trail now provided by guilty Oath Keepers than waste breath on this folderol (excepting this post...)

Sure, keep doubling down on the stuff that cost Republicans the midterm elections. I'm sure that's gonna end well for conservatives...
🙄

You know, from the party that's all for law and order and enforce the laws (for gun control) laws don't seem to mean much if they apply to them.

Just an outright lie at this point. Sticking to the script.

It's partisan politics to point it out when republicans commit publicly broadcast crimes, or terrorist threats.

That is the state of America today, after twenty years of neocommies.

At work, if we have to wait to get govt approval or permitting for a project on our property, we will have serious discussions about whether we can afford to wait for the govt process to finish or whether we just go on the project and pay the fine(s) if we get caught.

Punishable by a fine actually means legal for a price.

Remember all that complaining you did about how useless the Democrats were because they couldn't pass voting rights legislation or other useful bills?

It was the senate that did that, and it's the senate that will shoot down any goofy ideas the GQP come up with. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, and the dems beat the spread. You're the one being disingenuous. No party in recent history with the White House has done as well during the midterm elections.

GOP during Dubya's first term seems "recent", but if I remember right would be the only post-WWII anomaly in the trend.
