98% fatality rate... and it's ready for human testing?

I have an idea.  Let's tell everyone that this works better than Ivermectin at curing COVID

I'm sure that will happen at the same time they release autonomous driving and the CyberTruck.

Oh, you think it's funny now.  But when Elmo sends his remote-controlled zombie fanboy army after you, let's see you laugh then

This is going to happen someday, but I have huge, huge doubts about this being it.

So he's decided to be Sam Jackson in The Kingsman. I think that particular cartoon villain suits him.

The 2% of monkeys that survive are the ones controlling the "autonomous" driving vehicles!

Of course it's killed all the Monkeys. Versalife is behind on their Neuropozyne deliveries so the poor monkeys are rejecting their cybernetic implants.

/Seriously though, Musk has a hard time making a car that doesn't spontaneously ignite, no sane person would put one of his implants in their brain so they can be a living remote control.

I wonder if he'll be sharing a cell with Elizabeth Holmes at some point.

Theranos never went public either.  She just defrauded private investors.  And Musk now has a half dozen shiat shows making no money.

This will come out about the same time they release the cyber truck, personal robots, and get Hyperloop running.

Elizabeth Holmes got 135 months for fraud.

As a fan of Mr. Musk, I believe that Mr. Musk can double or even quadruple that number.

I would love the (potential) functionality of having a brain implant. But between rejection and possible fungal/bacterial infection in the brain? Not a farking chance.

Yeah but none of those have a 3k monkey death count. This one is just particularly sad. In a way a bunch of rich people driving a ventless tunnel death trap with highly explosive cars isn't.

Even if this is it, never ever jump on the new tech bandwagon. Let people with more dollars then sense beta test it all.

Personally, after a lifetime working in tech the only way I would consider any sort of tech in my body is if it lacked any sort of external connectivity. No wifi, no cell, no ability to connect to anything that is not contained within my own personal meat space.

Of course the moment such tech becomes prevalent hackers are going to start looking for specific patterns of shape, colour or sound that will crash someone's implants or just outright kill them. Hey, the memetic kill agent might just become a reality.

So... 2% chance I can become a drone rigger, and 98% chance of death?

I like those odds!

For someone else to take.

Seriously, wtf. Did it really get approval for human testing?

This is a very good read:

https://defector.com/what-the-boring-company-does/

Long story short, the difference between Theranos and Boring is that while Theranos made big promises and then committed fraud to cover up the fact that those promises were lies, Boring makes big promises and then... doesn't do anything. It's not fraud if you don't show up. They literally named the digging equipment they were gonna buy "Godot."
