OMG the SO got one.
I immediately started to 'improve it'. With a soldering iron, a studded cock ring, and a metal POWER washer shower attachment. Well, let's just say I'm not allowed near the TENS unit anymore.

So when I was hospitalized with diverticulitis, it was the worst pain I've ever felt in my entire life, and only a select few I'd wish iat upon. My nurse, was a mother, and she had also had diverticulitis. So I asked, where the pain of diverticulitis is on a scale of menstrual cramps to childbirth.

She said it's in between.

The pain made me hyperventilate, cry, and pass out. So yeah, women probably deserve a couple days off a month to cope.

I don't think she is human from some of her reactions, 70K Scoville level pepper, "it has a smoky flavor".

What blows my mind about it is that I know people who use a TENS to help alleviate period pain... not simulate it.

/big fan of recreational TENS usage.

Let's not.  A while after I had mine a friend had one and commented it was worse than childbirth.  I can't know if that's true, but it completely rescaled what I thought pain was.

/Was quite annoyed that it happened three weeks before Halloween- all the blood vessels I'd burst in my eyes from vomiting so hard had healed by then.  The completely red eye look would have ruled.

I had a MRSA infection on my scrotum.  It swelled up like a playground kickball.  Once I was able to walk again, I had to carry my nutsack with both hands, so it didn't move or bump up against my legs.  I guess what I'm saying is, you can f*ck right off with your pain simulators.

I had a tear in my cornea that would not heal.  It was ripping open every night/morning when I opened my eyes.  My wife was 8 months pregnant with #2, so that needed to be dealt with.  Fast.

The solution was surgery to essentially remove the whole thing with what looked like a Dremel tool and let it grow back.  It was said that the level of pain after anesthesia wrote of would be comparable to childbirth.

This seems to have been accurate.

My mom said something similar when I was (what felt like at the time) dying of norovirus.

Ever dry heaved from the southern end? I don't know that I've ever felt pain like that before in that place in my body.

She gets hyper after eating sugar. There was a white chocolate video and she did a shark attack leap to eat a white chocolate truffle out of Tom's hand.

Giggling tattoo dude is into pain, that's what those black rings are around his arm. Solid bars of color are the most painful tattoos you can get (I have close to 15 tattoos, so this is a voice of experience). I could never do one of those, I wouldn't make it through it. One of my friends has his entire forearm colored black, took months to heal and was incredibly painful.

My daughter uses one to cope with her periods. The poor thing would be doubled up in pain, crying and using both the TENS and a heating pad. One time while on a trip she forgot to bring the TENS with her. I ran to Walgreens to buy her one immediately, to hell with the cost.

I used to joke that getting kicked in the junk is worse.

A woman can go through the pain of childbirth and want to do it again. She can hear some woman recount how horrendous it was and want to do it again. She can watch a video of a birth and not wince and want to do it again.

A guy gets kicked in the nuts and he never wants to experience it again. He hears some other guy recount how horrendous it was and not only doesn't he want to do it again but he experiences sympathetic pain and cringes. He watches a video of a guy getting racked and he will double over in sympathetic pain. The pain transcends both time and distance, transmitted from scrotum to scrotum across the cosmos.
