The CEO was interviewed on stage by the Times' Andrew Ross Sorkin, who said he is Jewish and was not OK with Amazon's decision to keep selling "Hebrews to Negroes." Jassy said he also was Jewish.

Coincidence???

No, you don't.  You're not a government, you can be discerning.  You can be biased.

No...you don't have to sponsor hate, Amazon.

Good thing we've pulled back from buying things from them months ago.

Also, I'd sue you and win.

No book burning or censorship is involved.
It's a private company, making a business decision, for which there may be consequences.

People are correct to be pissed off that books of no historical significance that do nothing other than promote hate are being sold by a private company that can choose not to do so.

There's no censorship or book burning involved because the government isn't preventing anyone from writing or selling it, and nobody's buying them up and destroying them.

If you want that, you'll need to find a gang of republicans desperate to cancel some LGBTQ+ media, or christians upset about whatever they're upset about this week.

"Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

I wouldn't be surprised if the SQOTUS ruled that since the Federal Government isn't "abridging"  free speech, they have a right to make sure hate speech like this ISN'T banned.  I mean, abortion wasn't in the Constitution, right?

Hey dumbmitter,

Let's not forget that the Democrats passed a huge bill to explicitly give a contract to Amazon (or at least Blue Origin) this summer and that Amazon is usually seen as a big Democratic Party contributor.

It's in a couple state constitutions but I believe republicans have decided that doesn't count, because laws and free speech are only for them.
