Or it could be Georgia voters coming out en masse to overcome the egregious efforts to suppress votes.

I belong to a local conservative group on NextDerp (GA). This was posted the other day. I still haven't voted yet because I haven't had the time to spend an hour+ in line.

I do wonder if the R's are able to turn out in droves in the rural counties while us in the Atl Metro aren't able to vote.

Granted, there is some schedenfreud with conservatives complaining about long lines and still being upset at democrats "poor policies". They almost get it.

The first election I voted in was the 1976 Presidential election, in downtown Atlanta.  I stood in line for over 90 minutes to cast my ballot.  In the ten Presidential elections (in other states) since then, my combined wait time was well under 90 minutes.  The worst was 10 minutes in 2016 and most have a zero weight time.  Georgia really needs to get their act together.

Yeap.

I went to vote today at the library right outside my neighborhood. The line at the nearest place was out the door and into the parking lot. When I voted a month ago, there were four people ahead of me.

So I went to the next nearest place near me but it isn't an early voting site for the run-off. There are about 10 fewer early voting sites in Fulton County for the runoff vs the general.

Will try again tomorrow.

I live in Atlanta and work in voting rights. I have yet to hear about anyone in the metro area waiting less than an hour to vote, no matter the day or time.

Back in 2020, tons of people voted absentee because there were drop boxes all over the place. The Republicans not only got rid of most of the drop boxes, but they can only be used during early voting days and hours, which means none of the remaining ones are available the Saturday and Sunday before Election Day (though you can leave your ballot off at the county HQ).

Maybe Republicans cannot stop us from voting, but they are sure making it as painful as possible.

Nah, it's just plausible deniability"coincidence" that that keeps happening across red states.

/I'm sure Texas wasn't trying to play any games when they decided they only allow 1 mail-ballot drop box per county.
//Median Texan county population is just 18,400. It's a TOTAL coincidence that Harris county with a population of 4,728,030 is heavily blue. they can just take turns dropping off their ballots in the single drop box. If they can find a parking spot, of course.
///If conservatives fell like they can no longer win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will abandon democracy.

Pretty much everyone agrees that half the people out there today are actively trying to burn this nation and everything it stands for to the ground, while their half trying their best to save it. The only thing we disagree on is which half is which.

The fun part about early voting in Fulton, is that everyone in line is a Democrat and enjoys talking shiat about Walker.
