0% chance he'll be in Denver.

That being said, I really really thought we were done being a laughingstock...:(

Not necessarily 0% (youmeanthere'sachance.jpg)

They could maybe trade Russ Wilson (and his salary) and Patrick Surtain II and Justin Simmons to the Jets for Zach Wilson.  Or something.

/not sure which team would come out ahead
//remember when Houston traded Osweiler to Cleveland to absorb some of his salary cap in exchange for draft picks?
///then the Browns released Osweiler, prior to the season

New York is where NFL QB careers go to die. Even more than Cleveland.

Who was their last good quarterback, Namath? Ken O'Brien?

Buttfumble!

Hmm.. No...

Vinny Greenteste was alright I guess.

Detroit?

Honestly though, if the offense keeps humming along like it is currently, its plenty good enough with Goff to win a superbowl. That defense though, still needs work.

Geno Smith, current Seahawks starting QB

Maybe try not being a douchecanoe? Taylor Heineke isn't exactly the best QB but people love him because he gives it his all and is pretty humble about it. If Zach Wilson owned his mistakes and just acted decent maybe people would give him a break.

I said Carolina, but maybe New Orleans? Brady could retire and Mariota is as mediocre as this doosh. Can I pick a whole division?

Dark horse: Canada?

Many teams may take a flyer on him.  Especially a team that needs a QB but doesn't have a top 10 draft pick.

Neil O'Donnell was pretty good.

Chad Pennington -  however, in a different city Pennington could have been better.  If he and Andy Reid crossed paths Pennington might have had a shot at a ring or even Canton.

For Zack Wilson, I'd say he needs a number of things:

1. A place where they don't need him to start immediately.

2. An offensive minded HC.

3. A lower profile city with a far less invasive media.

My thought? Minnesota. Nick Mullens is Cousins backup now. Bring Wilson in and have him sit for a year behind Cousins. Learn the playbook, ask questions & learn how to prepare.

I'm on record as saying I think it was a bad fit for Wilson in NY. I think he needs a mentor and an offensive coach & he was never going to be ready Day 1 in NY as the starter.

Minnesota would be a fresh start to learn under a veteran quarterback and a offensive-first coach.

Mark Sanchez was a Jets QB for longer, despite even his teammate's ass hating Mark so much, it tackled him for a fumble.

Belichick breaks Jet QB's.  Buttfumble, Darnold and his ghosts, now Wilson.

Not Geno though.  Geno Smith got beat, but he didn't mentally break like those three.

He'll go to the Eagles as QB2 and several weeks into next season, the Eagles will trade him to the Raiders for a 2024 1st round draft pick

A place where they don't need him to start immediately?

It's too late for that now.  Sitting for a year or two when coming into the league could have helped, but he's been starting for two years.  The Jets blew it, he's done.

Maybe not. We could have said the same thing about Geno Smith and he's doing okay now that's he got a good coach and supportive fan base behind him.

I think what sometimes gets lost when we talk about sports is how young these guys are. I'm 43 years old now. 20 years ago, I had just graduated college, and I was in Albuquerque working for a radio station that was cycling through GMs like people go through socks.

It was a horrible experience, and this was my first real job out of college. That radio station eventually went bankrupt.

I'm not saying the Jets will go bankrupt, obviously. I think Saleh is an excellent coach as well. Sometimes in life, it's just not a great fit, but I'm not giving up on someone unless they show a complete ineptitude for the job.

See Mills, Davis or Peterman, Nathan. Yeah, they don't belong in the NFL.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with most of what your saying.  People can and do change, especially people that young.

I just don't think Zach Wilson can do that.  I think he's too arrogant and entitled to ever learn from his mistakes.

I would also say that Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, and Mark Sanchez would all have had more successful careers had they not started on the Jets.

Geno Smith was pretty much like that. How he came to get his jaw broken. It took the better part of a decade for him to get his head right. Maybe Wilson will manage something similar one day. Maybe he won't. At the moment, he's playing poorly and acting like a biatch. The rest of the team looks about ready to contend right now. Windows tend to be short. They can't have one guy sinking them.

IDGAF about Zack Wilson, I'm more offended by this TMZ-for-sports website that TFA comes from and lost ten IQ points just reading the headlines of the other stories linked at the bottom of this one. Why is subby enough of a drooling moron to read this site and find an article to submit from it, and which gibbering idiot on the admin team approved it?

I was a big Pennington fan back in the day, but with his lack of arm talent, he wouldn't get a sniff at the NFL today, much less Marshell. DC's figured out the book on him and the cover 2 was the end of his career.

All he had to do was suck more in college and he'd have a better chance at being a good pro now. What NFL team you're drafted by has just as much to go with a qb's success as their talent and work ethic does.

/Lions fan, so I know a thing or 2 about this

You don't get to play the Bears defense every week.As a reminder, the Mike White-led Jets scored 31 points against the Bears..... That's BELOW the average of what they were allowing the previous 5 games.
