Hey, he's a guy who can be bought, so I don't know what all the ruckus is about. Just offer him more money to be a Democrat. That's all he's looking for. Just someone to sponsor him to a lifestyle he'd like to become accustomed to.

Time to overturn Citizens United, outlaw PACs, and eliminate corporate donations to candidates, or at least severely restrict corporate donations, so that they are equal to any individual campaign donation.

When was the last time you heard any news article about an election that actually pointed out policy positions for each candidate?  Probably not in the past decade.

All you ever hear now is how much $$ each candidate raked in for X amount of time, as if that somehow is an indicator of their worthiness to represent constituents and effectively govern if elected.

I didn't realize refugees at the southern border were so well armed as to be a threat to the national sovereignty of the US government.

The only group I really see in the Americas being a threat to the us government is the GQP.

That's not a contradiction. He's a dude willing to sell out his everyone else so he can make more slightly more money, that's the core principle of American conservatism.

Good LORD, we have truly located the stupidest of stupid Kapos.

Does he actually think he won't be one of the first sent to the ovens if he succeeds in helping the fascists seize power? Or is he such a monster that he intends to help them and then use his 30 shekels to flee?

He sees himself as "one of them", one of the white, rich, conservatives just with a few exciting little quirks.

He's assuming the white, rich, conservatives see him that way, too.

History, unfortunately, is unforgiving in this regard.  He's FA, and actively creating the world where he will be one of the first to FO, and doesn't even know it.

We have to be in direct war with Russia for it to count as treason - that's baked into the constitution to prevent abuse of treason charges, as much as we'd all like to see them in cases like this.

It's unquestionably felony bribery however, which is both impeachable and carries a fairly lengthy prison term - and he's not president, so you can skip the impeachment that Republicans will never vote yes on and just arrest him directly.

ago.

Declaring war doesn't mean you have to send in the military.  You can be at war and never do anything about it.

Maybe it's time to acknowledge Russian hostile but non-military actions against the US over the past few decades, acknowledge it as Cold War II, then claim America has been losing it and it's time to turn that around.  Once the political environment is ripe, you declare war.

Don't send a single soldier to the Russian front, just finally get on with the job of cleaning up the infestation of Russian agents in the US who are causing significant harm to Americans.  Rope's not THAT expensive, you know.

It absolutely astounds me that you can trace the root of nearly all of the large scale problems America is currently facing back to the catastrophe that was Bush becoming President.

Between 9/11 (which may well not have occurred under President Gore), Bush's reaction to it, conservatives' reaction to it, and the horrible people Bush put onto the SCOTUS, you have the answer to a huge fraction of "why is this so farked up in America today" questions.

It's more like the Fates... they've been weaving the threads since the first European set sail for the New World.  There are lots of problems with the US - like any other nation - and they've been there since the nation was founded.

Those issues guide society which affects international relations, and you end up with a bunch of greedy assholes trying to keep the population profitable, dumb, and compliant by making them fight against each other so they don't get the idea to unite and demand their share of American prosperity.  On top of that you have an opposing nation that saw an opportunity to amplify this for a relatively small investment.

Bush is one of the later signs of weakness in the American empire, not one of the early ones.

Liberals REALLY need to get over the idea that conservatism belongs exclusively to old straight rich white Christian men.  Your fight is not with a demographic; it is with a value system.

a NYC area Republican Politician of Ukrainian heritage?

Check for ties to the Ukrainian Mafia who have been big in the NYC area.
The Ukrainian Mafia has more loyalty to the Russian Mafia than to Ukraine and an honest government there.
Parts of both mafias have good relations with the Tussian government.
