After 14 years, they suddenly went "ok, we won't fight you anymore" - guessing Coterra finally ran out of bullshiat paperwork to throw at Dimock to delay the actual trial.

// and they only have to pay $16M, and then only to provide clean water for the people whose water they polluted for the last decade and change?

What are they biatching about? They get Act 93 funds. They should grovel and beg and go through lenghty application processes with the commonwealth finance authority to use them too. Well, use them in the 'right way'.

Praise be to Tom Corbett! All hail the plutocrat, all hail haliburton, all hail our masters!

And now that those wells are drilled and capped, we wait to play with supply and demand like Arab sheiks. HAIL PENNSYLVANIA

Yeah good and fair points, but "no contest" or "nolo contendere" is basically saying "yeah, I'm basically guilty, but I could fight it and make it drag out...but I'll agree to not contest the charges"

/ pled no contest on less than $10 of weed two decades ago in the redneck republic of Florida, it was that or get 1 month in jail, got 6 months probation instead. Our justice sys is so farked up, especially FL

The rerelease on Steam is fantastic. You do have to download DOSBox and play on The Collector's Edition...but it still works. It works so well that I've got 12 hours of gameplay already and I have barely made it to Zarin's betrayal.

It's a start. Now where are the criminal charges against the suits who ordered the polluting activity?

The Reverend Sam Hill: It's a start. Now where are the criminal charges against the suits who ordered the polluting activity?

That would require the will to actually enforce the law, which unfortunately our govt seems too afraid to do.

As Robert Reich has said multiple times, companies like this make more money paying fines than by following the rules.

That shiat needs to change.

Impossible. I've been assured by many a farkBoomer that fracking is a safe and necessary part of our energy future, and skepticism of the practice is akin to supporting Russia.

I'de just like to say "fark you, and die in a fire you worthless trash" to the farmers saying concern over fracking was overblown. Anyone willing to sell out their species for a dollar don't deserve a moments peace in this life or the next.
