Maybe they'll revisit the Casey Martin cart rule for him.

I remember Tiger being for the side that said walking is an inherent part of the test of the golfer. But I could be making that up.

He said exactly that in the interview.  Father / Son tourney is part of the Sr tour, so he can take a cart.

I had plantar faciitis as well (I walk 8-10 miles a day as a letter carrier). A simple surgery not only fixed it, but gave me a much better quality of life. I don't know his exact circumstances. I can only speak on my own experience. My doctor said a fasciotomy has a 95% success rate. I think it's the 4-6 week recovery Tiger doesn't have time for.

He's a millionaire, presumably, who took a few years off for back surgery. Besides one tournament, what time can he not take off for?

Alimony, houses and staff don't pay for themselves. He's still somewhat of a pitchman and he's paid to show up at tournaments. Can't do that when you're riding the couch.

He can sell houses and fire staff. About the alimony does he have a knife and a glove that doesn't fit.

Maybe he shouldn't be all fancy, eating avacado toast like he owns the place.

yes, and Tiger is not looking for a leg up on the tour.   He has never asked for an exemption nor has he asked to use a cart.   He's going out with a little dignity.

Remember this when people say golf isn't good exercise.  18 holes is a great and fun way to burn calories, especially if you're carrying your own bags.

Was he wearing a seatbelt when he crashed and mangled his leg?

He crashed at 75MPH, hit a tree and rolled the car. So, yes.

Yeah.  You don't survive that crash if you aren't wearing your seatbelt.

On the course?
With a waitress?

You wanna get fired, you wanna be replaced by golf carts, then keep it up.

You owe me one gumball machine.

Average walk for 18 holes is about 6 miles. I have a golf buddy we call "9 Mile", he's a bit erratic off of the tee.

Bag on Woods all you like, but he is probably the last really great golfer you will have ever seen. He can't catch Jack and nobody is going to catch Tiger. I'd be wildly surprised if anyone ever gets to 10 majors.

Sad? Guy is perhaps a billionaire or maybe "only" worth $800 million depending on which article you read  If he never works a day again in his life his investments should leave him with very few needs unless he suddenly decides to buy a social network or something.
