I love that consumer robots have come so far. When my youngest was a kid she desperately wanted a robot dog. We got the best available and it was pretty much a joke. Years later she stripped it for parts and drove her Frankenstein creation with an adruino. This one is way more capable out of the box - and can be driven with a PI.

It's a good time to be a kid into science.

I'm sitting next to my dog on the couch and I don't think she's impressed.  Where are the "sloppy dog kiss with bonus dog breath", "take up entire couch", "lay head across laptop preventing its use" or "room-clearing fart" functions?

Be careful what you wish for. Plenty of smart kids will add the "room clearing farts" function with unmitigated glee.

Sort of want to see how my cat reacts to it, but this is closer to my budget right now:

I'm sort of tempted because it's under $10, but it's got mixed reviews on Amazon.

"My dog loves it."

"Fue un regalo muy lindo"

Some of the other reviews weren't so kind.

"i am disappointed for the money it cost me."

It's $9.99! What did you expect?

Still, who wouldn't want a robot dog?

I know that's for kids, but I'm too spoiled by Boston Dynamics robots to have any appreciation for it.

I think a dog with open sores would be gross
