Put them in the same category as a candy bar.  You wouldn't eat a candy bar every day.  Okay maybe you would, but you shouldn't.

"The same is true of non-caffeinated drinks, like hot chocolate"

Ok while some of the quotes made sense I now find the whole article sus.

The whole section of drinking one of those lattes as workout fuel or a post-workout drink is pretty laughable. I seriously doubt most people exercise that hard enough to burn off a quarter of the calories in one of those sugar bomb drinks. And I think that people who take their diet and exercise seriously aren't drinking them also.

You know what people who take their workouts at least semi seriously drink? WATER.

Hey subby, don't be knocking gingerbread latte. They make a great emetic (something that makes you violently puke) when you can't find ipecac.

Say, for example, you accidentally drank some eggnog. You don't want to wait for it to take the long way out, so just pile a gingerbread latte on top of it and it all comes back up at once.

who gives a shiat what a nutritionist says, what does a dietician say.

Ok y'all listen up. Serious weightlifters and athletes definitely have sugar and sometimes caffeine before training. And they have sugar (easily digested carbohydrates) after they train along with their protein because well science.

If one is to drink such vile concoctions as listed in the article (which I don't) then It would seem that just before or just after a workout would be the least bad time to do it. Because your body should be burning fuel quickly using it to be active and then to repair muscle.

So that part of the article I was like "ok I can see why a nutritionist would say this"

Then the writer said cacao doesn't have caffeine which is just blatantly false.

I've had them. They're not bad. Beats any pumpkin- or peppermint-flavored drink.

Seriously? They're giant sugar bombs. If you're buying any of that for health, you're doing it wrong. That in mind, just make that mistake when you feel like it.

It's funny because of the sugar addiction.

Am I the last person in America who drinks straight drip coffee? No foamed milk, no caramel drizzle, no "pumpkin spice?"

just consider sugary lattes like ice cream. of course you can eat it and enjoy it but REMEMBER it has calories. like make it your entire breakfast, don't have it with an additional breakfast. or work out more and budget the calories into your day. this isn't rocket science here...

Mah Fronch Press farts in your drip coffee's general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of coffee berries!

I don't buy made coffee unless it is the only option.
I'm make a "gingerbread" simple syrup with fresh ginger and molasses. A splash of that instead of sweetener and splash of half and half. Is a nice winter morning treat without a bajillion calories or costing $9.

I'm on the paleo-coffee diet. I only drink my coffee black like our prehistoric ancestors did.

By drip you mean a coffee machine that has uncleanable heating tubes that dumps poorly regulated temperature water on top of grounds? Go clean with a French press.

Consider having your latte before or after exercising

As opposed to during exercising.
