I'm not into gore and torture porn, Hostel was the last one I 'tried' to watch.  But I kept hearing SO much about this "Terrifier" that I wiki'd the plot for 1 & 2.

Dear LORD who comes up with this stuff?

I get that there's a market for it (which is scary) but just having the mind to say "I think THIS would be good in my movie" is upsetting!

I watch horror movies all of October and do not see that crossing over into watching horror movies in December.  I am not sure I could work these into my October horror movie watching either, but it's worth a shot.

I can see watching it just on a technical level, assuming they're using practical effects and they're well done. But that reduces the audience to a relative handful of movie fx geeks.

/personally I prefer either psychological horror; or ones like Dead Alive, where the gore is so over the top it becomes a cartoon

So, we're now in a glut of the "look how edgy I am making a children's character into a slasher movie" flicks.
Tip: A 3-minute trailer of this kind of scenario may work on a sketch comedy show, but that doesn't mean there's enough to fill an 90-minute movie.

The only people who have good cause to complain about copyrights are creators who lost ownership of their own works. Anyone else is basically just announcing "I have no good ideas of my own, so I want to publish shiatty fanfic of someone else's stuff."

There's an argument to be made to that effect, sure.  But I would offer the counter-argument that It's A Wonderful Life is basically A Christmas Carol, with Potter playing the Scrooge role, but the story instead focuses on George (playing the Jacob Marley role) and his holiday woes, with Clarence (standing in for the ghosts of past and present) having to convince him to change his mind.  Thus, a Christmas movie.

So you're not willing to accept that Die Hard is a Christmas movie, despite being set at a Christmas party, having a soundtrack filled with Christmas music, and unforgettable holiday-related quotes like "Ho, Ho, Ho, now I have a machine gun". But you are willing to attempt the enormous stretch that It's A Wonderful Life is comparable plotwise to A Christmas Carol.

I'm sorry, but I just can't take you seriously when you're this drunk.
