8 polling places for the general election and 3 for the runoff. All in small buildings with limited parking. They're doing their best to keep people away.

Why do you put up with this BS? Every other Western civilized nation recognizes an obligation to make voting as easy as possible, for maximum inclusion. Australia even makes it compulsory.

Why not start with a senate enquiry into GOP conspiracy to suppress voting? And then bring RICO charges.

Why not have a million dollar lottery in every state, with your vote giving you a ticket?

Just under 50% of the regular voters want this BS, because it helps them win even if they are in the minority.

I don't think RICO applies. Civil rights claim under section 1983, maybe.

But why would you expect the court system, which keeps upholding these abuses, to solve these abuses?

We were doing okay until the illegitimate SCOTUS decided enough time had passed since Reconstruction and racism was a thing of the past.

One party is overly represented in the Department of Justice and the judiciary, and both bend over backwards to accommodate their attempts to claw onto whatever remaining levers of power they can to maintain their outdated and decrepit ideology.

We already have nearly half of all voters voting against their own interests because they vote party line, vote based on the ads they watched the week before, or just don't really understand what the fark they're voting for.

I don't think increasing that turnout would be very helpful.

The only thing that will turn this country around is if the current and future generations of young people are so disgusted by the GQP that they never miss a chance to vote against a Republican piece of shiat.

I live in a very red, very rural county in GA and there was no Sunday voting. I'm willing to bet that there were many, many counties that didn't offer it. We do have mon-fri early voting for the next couple weeks but the weekends are right out!

Luckily I'm on nights this week so I'm voting tomorrow, NOT for FOOBAW!!!

The civilized states make voting easy.  I got my ballot in the mail, I filled it out at home, and then I sent it in.  The California SOS website confirmed for me that it was received.

GQP propaganda has killed the other states, and now the brainwashed masses will continue to vote for people who will make voting harder and harder (while also doing everything possible to pollute more, get more people shot, keep healthcare away from people, et cetera).

Propaganda works.  We aren't fixing the voting system because the Republicans - both politicians and constituents - don't want to.

Needlessly Complicated: Doesn't early voting help Republicans, too?

Republicans told other republicans not to vote via mail because something something Jewish space lasers (my translator program broke down at that point).

I don't understand how dumb people can see about voting. I was talking to a work aquantience and he was telling me that voting by mail (which we have here in Colorado) is so insecure. His theory was that I could photocopy my ballot and vote several hundred times.

I informed him that each person's ballot has a unique barcode so it wouldn't work that way, no matter how many times my ballot is scanned it can only regeister as a single vote. I also admitted that I didn't know the details of it but I was pretty sure that it the same ballot were scanned too many times it would trigger some kind of alert and get some attention.

I can't believe that in 2022 there are people that believe that a ballot is basically a blank peiece of paper that we write our vote in.

We couldn't get bipartisan support in Congress for an enquiry into the GQP's attempted coup on January 6, 2021. What makes you think we can get bipartisan support in Congress for an enquiry into widespread voter suppression and potential RICO charges against the GQP?

That's the thing - yeah I know Democrats love early voting because it's easier for their base to come out to the polls, but it's not like they'd shut the whole thing down if some Trumpers decided to go out and early vote themselves to stiggit. It's like the whole thing about shutting down Sunday voting - right wing churches in GA could easily tell their congregation to go vote after services to punish the Democrats and Democrats by and large would still endorse Sunday voting, despite it being used against them. Because that's how democracy is supposed to work.

Because the GOP has stated their position is anti-democracy and therefore any attempt to counter it is automatically "political" so it can't be done because of the implications of such "partisan politics activity" and so many of our citizens are idiots that fall for such idiocy.

Except you're just saying "Oh you can't do that because 'merica "

And democracy has a long tradition of people saying "You can't give working men the vote because ..." "You can't give women the vote because ...." "You can't give people unemployment benefits because ..." "You can't give blacks equal rights because ..."

And democracy also has a long tradition of other people saying "Why not?" "If it works in other places, why not try it here?" And actually achieving the unthinkable.

And the first step is getting enough people to understand IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS

Clearly this is in spite of Republican efforts to disenfranchise minorities. Maybe it's time Stacey Abrams has a leadership position in the DNC.

Why do we make voting difficult? For the same reason Georgia has 159 counties - Because black people tried to vote and we jist can't have that.

Some counties saw long lines as voters without flexibility on weekdays, including college students home for Thanksgiving, waited to cast their ballots. Warnock was one of them, spotted in a lengthy queue in Fulton County.

To which Herschel Walker exclaimed, "How does Warnock expect to be a Senator and also go to college!"

No, no, no. They're not. At least, not intentionally. Ask someone who votes Republican why they do so, and 95% of the time it boils down to taxes and guns. I don't have a good answer for the guns because I'd like to keep it easy to kill deer, ducks and feral hogs while making it hard to kill 2nd graders, Sikhs and Wal-Mart shoppers.

But taxes are where the American left, and the Democratic Party as their voice, have failed. Taxes pay for society. Taxes pay for civilization. And we simply do not hammer that point home enough.
