It took a while to get the punch card stack containing his passing to the reader, and the greenbar output fell off the back of the print op's desk.

Somebody got their necktie caught in the card reader - took a while to get it unjammed and working again.

/actually saw that happen once with a card sorter - the old-fashioned kind with the brush contacts, not one of those new-fangled ones with the electric eyes
/the metal brushes made it harder to untangle things
