As far as I know everyone who worked on the original series has agreed that Shatner is a pain in the ass. If I remember correctly, even Leonard Nimoy -- who became good friends with him -- thought he was a pain to work with.

But for real George. So. What? Without William Shatner you are just another character actor. Without him, you don't have 2 million Twitter followers and a lifetime income from attending fan conventions. People love you George, but no one was tuning into reruns to see what Sulu did that episode.

Both of you are going to be dead soon, so why not try to have some gratitude for catching lightning in a bottle?

I remember watching a roast of William Shatner long ago.  When he was introduced as the guest of honor, he rode into the theater on horseback.  At the end, Takei had this to say,
George Takei to William Shatner: Fuck You & the Horse (Short)

/no shiat - Shatner actually rode into the theater on a real honest to dog food horse.

They made me drive the damn ship for a five-year tour
I never got a medal and I never got to score
I never saw a piece of the action, I got so goddamn bored
I chased the farkin' captain with a mutherfarkin' sword
I'm Sulu!

Well I work for the captain and I work for Mr. Spock
But one day I'll bend 'em over and show 'em how I dock
And if they don't like it they can just get out and walk
While I go on to man the con and teach Starfleet how to rock!
I'm Sulu!

The story was heartfelt to me and not bitter at all. No bitterness included except for this Two16 guy. He is a bitter guy.

Great guy, amazing life story, funny, smart...
But every time he talks about Shatner at this point, all I can think of is the old SNL convention bit. I mean, it's been over 50 years...

"Get a life!"

Exactly. It's like having an elderly next door neighbor, who is really frickin cool except when he gets going that one time 45 years ago when the guy who lived where you live now got drunk and drove through your neighbor's rose bushes.

He's bitter because he never got asked to voice a character on My Little Pony.
