Oh, he's injured?  What a shame.

It kinda gives the Bears a chance next week.

Not much of a chance, but some hope is better than none.

Jordan Love throwing a 60 yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson is absolutely my favorite football moment of the year.

I asked for a Lynn Dickey, Don Majkowski or Jordan Love jersey for Christmas this year. I already have a Jim McMahon Packer jersey.

Season's over.  Time to find out if Jordan Love can play.

I'm sure there is a high chance of injuring your ribs or oblique when your head is so far up your own arse.

Ya done screwed up, A-aron!

I'm sure Rodgers will take the opinion of a trained medical professional very seriously, just like how he did with Covid and the thumb injury he hinted at.

That's what opponents have scored against the Bears defense the last five games, since they've officially tanked for draft picks this season.  While I don't think that it's a bad decision, but I also don't think I've seen an NFL team been so obvious about it.

I don't know how bad of a quarterback you have to be NOT throw 4 touchdowns and 350 yards against them. By next week Jordan Love will be considered the next messiah for Green Bay based on his outing against the Bears alone.

Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady both lost yesterday.

Aaron Rodgers will turn 39 years old next month. Tom Brady is 45 years old.

Two Hall of Fame quarterbacks who arguably are having the worst seasons of their professional lives.

Behold the Twilight of the Gods.

For the eleventy billionth time, the Bucs have a LOT of problems.  Tom Brady is NOT one of them.

Packers have a lot more problems than just Rodgers (their defense, for starters) but he also has a broken thumb on his throwing hand and they should've shut him down.  It's clear it's badly affecting him.  You don't go from MVP to dogshiat in one year.

/Packers season is basically lost at this point, shut him down and see how well Love does.

Rodgers needs to be sat down the rest of the year. They aren't making the playoffs and need to see what they have with Love. Then in the offseason, pray some team wants to take Mr. Ayahuasca and his insane salary for a 3rd round pick.

But if it is Rodgers doing the math then who knows when that will be.

Fark him. There is a 5% of them making the playoffs. And that defense is going to learn to tackle any time soon.

I don't think I've ever heard of an oblique injury until this season...now there are four examples that come to mind.

Is this something new, like the flatiron beef cut of a few years ago?

They are very common in baseball.  Not sure about football though.

The obliques are abdominal muscles that are responsible for torso rotation and stabilizing the torso and pelvis. Really don't see it much in football as the only football players who rotate their torsos on a regular basis are QBs when they throw, with WRs and TEs next as they need to turn around and extend to catch.

More common in baseball as nearly every player is catching and throwing the ball, as well as extending their bodies.

This.

Baseball fans hear about players getting this type of injury all the time.

Not sure about football though.

It's the first time I've heard about a football player getting it.

When I was a kid in SF some yuppie tried to tell me that baseball players (his example was Jose Canseco) are the most athletic of major league athletes because of the pure power generated by the twisting action of the torso as they swing the bat and before they trot to first base in just under a minute.
I told him it was a game for children who can't count to ten yet and also used Jose Canseco as an example.

Of all the sports I have played, the one that required the most 'athletic' ability was hockey.  Second was baseball.  Big guys who are not terribly great athletes can sometimes find a spot on a football team.  Even 'unathletic' baseball players don't get very far because if you can't hit or pitch, they can't hide you.

Rodgers says it was his ribs that got injured. That makes a lot of sense as he got sacked and hit multiple times last night.

I will add Randy to my list. I honestly forgot about him. I considered Dilweg, Kiel and Tomscak (I know that spelling is wrong) and while I love them, I had to put them in the next tier with John Hadl and such.
