Literally no different from what U.S. does to antifascist protestors.

Well, to be fair, they are typically released with no charges within six months. Not executed ... for the most part.

I've known a few that were involved in Portland protests.  While the cops weren't helping at all against the attacks from proud boy losers, none of the people I know were charged with a crime, even the ones that have (and continue to) publicly call out the government

I don't think we should minimize the fascist actions by cops against peaceful protestors.

I'm not minimizing it.  I'm saying they weren't charged with crimes (or put in prison for 15 years), which is what "literally no different from what the US does to antifacist protestors" means in the context of TFA

Americans are being put in jail for 15 years for making YouTube videos critical of the government?

Giving the police the benefit of the doubt is a real shiatty take.

Unlike, for instance, making shiat up. That's never backfired and given cover for others to dismiss real events.

DHS agents drove around in vans abducting protesters who like, broke a federal courthouse window
https://www.theverge.com/c/23374765/portland-van-abductions-protests-2020-homeland

A protester suspected of a crime was just straight up murdered by a U.S. marshal

You're minimizing it
2020 was supremely farked up

"Iran arrests Khamenei's niece after criticizing regime"

Iran arrests criticized the regime then arrested the niece?

I'm not sure "Unidentified thugs kidnapped people and then eventually let them go because they couldn't charge them with anything" should be described as "no one I know was charged with a crime." That sure seems disingenuous.
