Xi's little temper tantrum was an attempt to look "strong" but merely exposed him as a narcissistic crybaby.

And from reports on the ground the People aren't happy with him as it is.

He may be in for an old school Mao style "struggle".

Couldn't happen to a nicer modern "communist" dictator.

Let us not forget why the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.  The US cut off their oil supply.    Now that we are cutting off China from chips and other trade, they are going to have to choose between losing face and invading Taiwan.

Th US and China are doing the right things but there will be consequences.

Oh... ya no. Murray and the lads would have absolutely been disappeared before they even released the first album if they started in China.

Hell... there were a lot of people here trying to get them banned back in the day.

I've shared many a stage with them.

Hung out with Cretin this past summer.

He took acid and got all stumbly so I let him sit in my wheelchair. Took a while to get his scrawny buttprint out of the old memory foam and reform it to my even scrawnier buttprint.

He still puts on a great show and somehow has reversed his alarming aging and looks like he's 40 again.

They also have a new album out that starts really strong... but then gets a little dumb.

Also their current drummer (who replaced Bonehead) is completely blind... and plays like a fookin' beast.

Like Bonehead just kept the meter like a punk rock Ringo Starr so hearing fancy fills and blast beats in a DA song is... well a little jarring at first.

And Tower Records? Ya, you old. The one on Yonge?

Cheers!

It's not fake.  It's a statement that we regret that a situation exists, not that we are apologizing for our part in it.  It's a subtle difference.

We can indeed sincerely say, "I'm sorry you're an asshole", but mostly it's for minor things as a way of avoiding unnecessary conflict by indicating we have some empathy for your position.

Forty or so years ago I worked at a used record store in Seattle's University District. Except for Saturday afternoons there was never more than one person on shift. If you had to pee, you were supposed to wait for the store to empty out and lock up. But sometimes the store wouldn't must empty out on its own, so one would have to be a little creative. I kept a copy of Flipper's "The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" behind the counter for such circumstances. It never failed me.

Fortunately, there were enough of us to keep the lights on just in case one of us need that sort of time out. Closing time was usually Current 93 or Throbbing Gristle.
